bout two years ago, I was perusing the internet, over Easter weekend, and I came across a blog I used to follow quite regularly. It says things like "practical tips for productive living," and then it goes on to list things that would be good to think about during the daily grind. It's written by an annoyingly cute couple who obviously sit around thinking philosophically on the regular. I must say, I'm a tad jealous because, frankly, I don't have the energy.
Anyway, if you're interested in the site itself, I will give you the link, but I don't want to make it seem as though I am "sponsoring" it or anything here, because, well, that's illegal.
Soo, as I was browsing around the archives, I found some cool, thought-provoking questions that left me lost inside my own head for a good 2 hours or so. There were 50 of these mind bending questions (Originally I thought there were a hundred in two 50 question blocks, but I misread it), and I am not going to list them all here, but I am going to post some of the more provocative ones.
Obviously, you don't need to write volumes on any one question--but expound on a few of the ones that really resonate with you and allow your mind to roam at will. Take your time and have some fun on the mental playground that these questions construct sort of naturally. You should answer AT LEAST 8 of them, and only 5 if you really go into detail.
From time to time, I may pop in with my own answers to some of these--feel free to engage in conversation with me, or any of your classmates during the course of this week's blog!

36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
1. If I didn't know how old I was, I would be 30. Fresh out of school, new job, new love life (hopefully), new family, and to top it all off, new experiences. At 30, you're at the top of your game, and nothing can stop you from doing what you set your mind to do.
ReplyDelete2. Never trying is always worse. If you never try, you will never succeed. If you try and fail, at least you can learn from your mistakes and try again.
3. I guess it's because society has told us to. We spend over half our lives for the most part doing repetitive jobs we don't like, just to get enough money to do the things we like later in life, like skydiving or a nice vacation in the Caribbean.
6. If happiness was the national currency, I would be a tourist. I love seeing new places and experiencing new things, and being a tourist would be a dream come true. After all, I can't be stuck in Mays Landing for the rest of my life.
10. I guess I am more worried about doing things right. Sure doing the right things is what I should be doing, but human nature doesn't always do the right things. If I do something, I would like it to be done right. You know what they say, "If you want something done right you have to do it yourself."
17. The one thing I want to do is tell the people I love that I love them. The one thing that is holding me back is myself I guess. In the past, relationships haven't gone all that well, so I guess I am a bit more reluctant than I used to be. I just keep telling myself to wait or that I am not close enough to them yet or that I am just going to get rejected. Total bummer, am I right?
18. To be honest, I am holding on to something that is probably long gone by now. Back in Virginia, there was this one girl I liked, and I confessed to her, and she told me that she would date me, but she was going through a rough time in her life at the moment. So, we kept in touch. However, as the weeks passed, she answered me texts with less frequency, until she stopped altogether. I guess I am still holding on to some hope that she is still thinking of me or something. I just need to let go.
36. Not really. Good and evil are words that describe perspective. what may seem evil to you may seem good to someone else. For example, terrorism. All Americans view terrorism as an evil that needs to be expunged. But the the terrorists, they see themselves as a force for good and order. In the end, good and evil are just words to describe points of view.
41. If I knew everyone I loved was going to die tomorrow, I would go and visit my birth father. Even though he left when I was very young, it think it is a good idea to make peace with everyone before you die. It leaves you with no regrets.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteNever trying is worse because if I don’t try then how will I know that it could have successful. Whereas if I failed I could try again, but using a different route.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
I think about modeling every day for most of the day. Everything I do falls back on modeling. For example, eating. I love pancakes, but since ¼ cup of flour has a lot calories I make them with a banana and a half cup of oats. When I make it this way I am able to eat 5 pancakes that are 255 calories. Modeling makes me so happy because every time I book an event, it reminds me of all those times when I wanted to give up and it makes me glad that I didn’t.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
Even though education is important to me lately I have been putting it on the back burner because of modeling. Therefore, if the average life span was 40 Id drop out of high school and focus solely on signing and having my career sky rocket. I want to be featured in Sports Illustrated, Victoria Secret work with Fendi, Prada, and other high end brands (which I have to lose a lot of weight for and I’m working on it :/). As well as model for Gap and cosmetics. Having goals like those takes extreme dedication.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Definitely not. I am punk and if I was to go to jail I would easily be someone’s bitch. Plus, there are more ways to save a love one that doesn’t require the possibility of going to jail.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
I am currently saving up money because when I graduate high school I plan on going to Milan, Italy because I want to sign with Monster Management. Last year I downloaded an app, so I can learn Italian, but I eventually stopped because I didn’t have time.
18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
My love and I are like fire and water. I need and want him, and he cares about me, but whenever we try to fix things it doesn’t work out in the long run. I am holding on to him because I am in love with him. I always think maybe this time it’ll be different, but it is always the same. I need to let go because I shouldn’t be with someone who constantly makes me cry.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
I’d go visit my love. When I visit him I would do what he asked me to do nine weeks ago because I know it’ll make him happy. I would watch him play his favorite games and do everything he wants to do that day. I honestly can’t imagine life without him and I’d most likely kill myself so we won’t be apart.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
I hate wearing clothes, so I would probably walk around naked.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteBetween failing & never trying, never trying would definitely be worse to me. Failing is something I don't like, but having a sense of regret is something I hate even more. I don't like having that feeling where maybe if I tried I could've achieved it or maybe if I believed in myself I wouldn't feel regretful. Failing is something I hate you. It doesn't even have to be anything, but it could be like getting an answer wrong in a class and it'll make me feel completely stupid.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
For most people like myself, it's because I fear how decisions will effect me negatively in life & I care what certain people like my parents think of me. I don't want to be a disappointment. I don't know how many things I do daily to keep my parents happy & if you're close with me, you know I don't agree with a lot of their thoughts. They give me advice and constantly tell me if I mess up at a certain point, I'll fail and regret it later it in life. It sounds as if I mess up, I can't do anything to fix it. I guess people like stuff they haven't done because they don't know how it feels to experience it either because they're scared or aren't allowed.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
One thing I'd like to change most about the world is not being jealous of other people's success. The world is a competition. Everyone can't be successful because if success was normal for everyone success wouldn't be a word, but that only applies if you think being successful is being the greatest of all time. For some people, success is just improving their life and living a life where you have a little bit more than sufficient amount of money, a nice home, car and a few people working beneath you. They'll always be people who don't realize what they have and when they see that others have what they want, they begin to envy them and sometime try to take that away.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
If the human life span was 40, I would be more a live on the edge type of person. Right now, I stress about every single little move I make because I always assume how it'll affect me in the long run. Most of my decisions I make, I take into consideration how my parents would feel about it & most of the time, that's the thing stopping me from doing what I want because of course, I love them. Having a human life span of 40 would mean my parents wouldn't be living much longer and I wouldn't have parents at age of about 18. When I turn 18 & I no longer had to worry about other people's happiness, I would be with whomever I wish and go out whenever I wish. I wouldn't dream about being a huge doctor like I do right now because I know I'll probably still be in school when I'm about to die so I'll be aiming for a profession that doesn't require as much education, but pays a good amount.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
DeleteIm more worried about doing the right things. This can be difficult for me because stuff I consider right is considered wrong to my family so I follow what they tell me is right. Most of the time, I'm told I'm wrong for asking for certain things or if I try to live my life a different way. I'm afraid to make decisions I'll regret later on life so I use to do what most "good kids" choose to do. Smoking and drinking are considered wrong so I've never done that because it's "wrong" and because of personal reasons. I've always been know as the "little angel child" in my family to my aunts and uncles compared to all the other cousins in my family expect to my parents. My parents are pretty thankful I am how I am, but they do wish I were as smart as some of my other cousins or my mom who wishes I actually had a desire to be more "girly." The other cousins in my family get compared to me saying why can't they cook & clean like me, look as light as me,be as smart as me, be as respectful as me & I personally don't like having other people compared to me because I'm not everything they want their kids to be and im never going to be as smart or "girly" as my other cousins. They think I do EVERYTHING right and I don't, but it's always been a concern for me to try to do everything right.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
I would in a heartbeat. If I consider you a "loved you" you most likely know that's because I make it pretty obvious where people stand in my life. There are a few people where I consider them a key to my happiness. A lot of people make sure I'm smiling daily and have been there for me. Not gonna lie though, I would be hesitant for certain people because I would have to see how it would affect all my other "loved ones." If I were to die saving a loved one than I wouldn't regret it, I would be proud of myself.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
I think I would prefer to lose all my old memories because I have a few memories where I don't feel like I should have for the rest of my life. I would love to have new memories because to me life hasn't even really started yet. I want to have memories of me graduating, becoming a doctor, getting married, having kids, and growing old with whoever I end up getting married to. Those are the real memories I would love to have forever. I wouldn't want memories of past relationships, people I no longer communicate with, family issues or deaths.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
If I knew everyone was going to die tomorrow I'd definitely visit my boyfriend today. To begin with, I'm usually a pretty happy person to begin with, I mean people ask if I'm on something sometimes & Im always like (sigh) no, but when I'm with him it's like 10x more. Most people would probably say their family, but as much as I love my family, I'm usually in my room when I get home. I listen to music like all day and do homework because I know if I go downstairs I'll hear either my mom, dad, or brother arguing with eachother about something stupid. The days I spend with my boyfriends are priceless, I enjoy every minute because we're either just relaxing & talking, going for walks, eating or playing video games. I'm the type of person that likes listening to other people, but not when it's people that only talk to me when they need something. When I'm with him, it's almost always laughter & it's the moments where I forget almost everything bad in laugh and all the stress just vanishes.I mean who wouldn't want their last moments with someone who makes them so happy?
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
ReplyDeleteI would be 21 years old. I know it sounds like an irresponsible answer and I should have picked a higher age, but 21 is the time in your life where you can experience things that you have been waiting forever to experience. I feel as though 21 is the age where you can learn and figure out what is best for you and what isn’t. It is the time before you really have to focus on yourself and life, where you can figure out if you want to pursue what you thought you wanted. 21 seems as though that’s a year in your life where you experience so many things you never thought. It’s right before you build a family on focus completely on your career and others (Children).
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Me being who I am, I would say that failing is worse than never trying because I hate failing. Failure is something I hate coming across. The idea of failing is not a good feeling. When I fail, I feel like I didn’t work hard enough and I wasted my time. Although, never trying is not a good thing, I would rather not try than try and fail.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I would live my life everyday doing something that makes me happy each day. I would never want to have a dull moment in my life. Life is too short and with a span of years, you never know when your last day could be. I would spend every day with people I love and people who make me happy. I would try to experience things I have always wanted to do. But, I would also do things that is important like focus on my education, etc.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
Even though it is important to focus on doing the right things, I am more worried about doing things right. I am not going to lie and say I always do the right thing, but for the most part I am never doing anything that is completely wrong to where it can affect me or others. When I do something, I want to make sure it is right. I always wondered why waste your time doing something if you aren’t planning to do it right.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
To think about what you do before you do it every day in your life. The worst thing is to regret things that you have done, it isn’t something you want to live with. You want to be able to live your life in peace knowing that you did what you did because you wanted to do it. That is why it is very important to think about the things you do before you do it.
18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
A relationship that I know will never get better than before. Things only work after a certain amount of times of trying.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
I have done things in the past that I shouldn’t have as a friend, but everyone makes mistakes and you can only learn from them, I have definitely learned from my mistakes and I can say I am a friend that I would want as a friend. I do so much for my friends because I care for them so much. I support them in so many ways and I’m just one of those friends you would want to be around, especially if you’re having a bad day.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
If I knew nobody would judge me I would ask questions. I hate asking a question and getting looks as if I’m dumb. For the most part, I don’t care about what anyone has to say about me nor what they think. But, that is one thing I cannot stand.
1.) How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
ReplyDeleteI would be 17. I’m still in school getting ‘free’ education, my parents are still lenient on me, I can drive, I can work a minimum wage job and still live with my parents. I’m way too immature to be on my own and 17 is the last year to be ‘irresponsible’ in a way where I don’t have to worry about anything other than high school and not getting into trouble with the law. I have to pay for very little and I can go to bed knowing that I don’t have any debt or major responsibilities other than grades to worry about. If I were to choose an age between 20-30, I would have way too many things to worry about and I don’t want to do that.
2.) Which is worse failing or trying?
I’m going to jump on the never trying bandwagon. I accept failure because I get the satisfaction that I tried and I know that whatever I did is not for me. When I don’t try, the guilt eats me alive and I think about what could have happened if I did try. It’s like a constant battle in my head and sometimes I overthink which causes me to get stressed out. And of course, I think the outcomes are always better if I had tried instead of refusal.
5.) What is one thing you’d like to change about the world?
The Earth. Mother nature. Climate Change. And anything in between. We treat this poor planet like shit and we don’t give a damn. There are more than 16,000 endangered species and of those endangered species, their environment is destroyed. The coral reefs are destroyed, icecaps are melted/melting and rainforests are being cut down for our selfish needs. Not only would I bring them back to life, I would bring awareness to people that we need to be kind to the Earth so we don’t lose it a second time. And if I couldn’t do that, I would want to change people’s views on climate control, Earth and Science. I would want them to recognize the damages we are doing to this planet and put forth effort to fixing it.
6.) If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Taking care of animals, except for snakes and spiders. I love animals with all my heart, I wish we treated them and their habitats better. If I could take care of pandas especially, I’d be a damn millionaire. I don’t know what it is about animals but they just bring me to joy with their cute faces and silly antics. If I spend every waking hour with them, I’d be so rich I could probably bring the US out of debt.
10.) Are you more worried about doing things right or doing the right things?
Doing the right things. I’m always worried about other people and I am a rule follower. I don’t like doing things wrong in front of people because I am afraid people are going to judge me and think I’m stupid, weird etc. Especially when I’m in front of people I know and my mom wants to disobey the rules at any public function, I start to act out and urge her to do the right thing to the point she gets annoyed with me.
17.) What one thing you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
I really want to get a tattoo in memory of my grandmother but my mother would keep me locked up for the rest of my life. She’d probably home school me for college if I ever came home with a tattoo. I don’t know why my mother is so against them but since she is against them, I wouldn’t dare get one until I have my own house and stable job. As long as I am under her house, I am not to get a tattoo and I’m just going to have to deal with it until I get my life on track.
23.) Are you the kind of friend you want as a friend?
DeleteI am. I truly think I am. I’m always there to listen, I cheer them up wherever and whenever I need them. I love my friends with all my heart and I don’t want to see them hurt. I describe myself as the overly protective soccer mom: standing up for my friends, coddling them and pushing them to do their hardest. I do this because my friends, especially Lena, are like this with me. It wouldn’t be fair if they were the overly protective soccer mom and I was the mom that was never there and confused. Sometimes I’m too soccer mom-ish and embarrass them in front of their crush. It’s all out love. ❤
34.) Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you had the best conversation ever?
Kind of. It was more minimal words from us and everyone else was talking. We laughed with each other, said some side comments and even shared looks but I still regard it as the best conversation ever because we both had attention for only each other most of the time. I don’t remember the topic, it was probably something really stupid, but I do remember walking out with the biggest smile on my face and there are times where I want to redo that moment because I was utterly happy with him.
46.) What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
Be more open about two moms. I explained in previous blogs that I am super uncomfortable about it because I have had situations where the conversation goes south and I want to curl up in a ball and roll away. But if I knew no one was judging, the whole world would probably know and I’d be a happier version of myself. The people who know me and my parental situation already have a predisposition about me and I don’t need any more people thinking the same thing, it’s very stressful and at times the guilt eats me alive.

ReplyDelete1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
ReplyDeleteI would be 28 or 29 years old. I’m working and enjoying my career. I have done many things and gone to many places. At 28 or 29, I’m thinking about opening a new chapter of my life where my significant other and I will settle down and build a family of our own.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
The environment we’re in and the people we’re with become our greatest inhibitions. The people we live with and the environment we live in have the power to influence us and/or to stop us. Our society is all about conformity because we simply fear judgements from others.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
I’d say wanderlust, adrenaline rush, and food. My goal in life is to visit as many places/countries as I can. Along with that is to try a variety of food and fun adventures like skydiving (which I am still trying to get my mom to let me) and quad desert riding.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I wouldn’t go to college. If I do though, then I wouldn’t pick medicine as my major. I might go into business to start my own or find a decent job that pays well. I will marry early and have kids. I will live life simply and do my best to do all the things I’ve always wanted to do.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
It would be, “Be a real kid. Be curious. Get dirty. Play in the rain, play in the mud, ask any and as many questions as you want. Be silly and annoying. What I’m saying is just be a child. Tiny humans like you are what brings genuine happiness in this world full of cranky and boring grown-ups.”
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
I would rather lose all of my old memories. It’s hard enough to remember the bad ones, what else being stuck in the present knowing I’d be in that situation forever. Don’t get me wrong, the present could be great and perfect, but not being able to know what’s ahead while knowing there is a future is frustrating and wasteful. The purpose of life is to move forward, not to stop and look back.
34. Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?
This happens to me and my best friend. When we hang out with our group of friends, we usually don’t get a chance to talk because us girls have our own thing, and they have theirs. However despite that, there is always this connection between us like a “I-got-your-back” sort of feeling; even now that we don’t see each other as often, it is there. We’ve never talked about it before, we just go along with it. And it feels good to have that sense of connection because both sides know they are safe and appreciated.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
Instead of choosing, I will gather everyone who are dearest to me in a place close to my heart and spend those last moments together reminiscing and laughing.
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? (I love this one!)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, if I could be any age I'd be 5 years old. At this point everyone thinks your adorable your learning how to write your name and the alphabet. Your parents walk you to the bus stop because, they love you cook all your food. You can make a mess and leave it because, no one thinks your old enough to do a through job cleaning. You don't have a care in the world you can pee on yourself sometimes because, you're to scared to get up and go to the bathroom. No one will yell at you because, they think you're and don't know any better yet your in touch with everything. You take naps in school, sing songs for assignments and eat snacks throughout the day. You get like $50 bucks everytime there's a book fair. If you cry you'll get your way snd you'll utilize that often.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Of course, never trying is worst than failing because, if you never try you'll never know. Life's too short not to give your dreams a chance even if you think they aren't obtainable. Only people who don't believe in themselves would rather not try because, they're scared they won't get the outcome that they were looking for. It's this mindset that I feel is though is fucking up this generation. This is the only generation where we talk about the problems but, rarely ahat we will do to fix them. We won't protest, boy cott, petition, or even come together because, we don't think anyone will join us but, how will anyone join your movement if you don't even believe in it.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
Life is full of bull crap that we don't like I don't feel as though people who don't like coming to school so they sleep, skip, or don't come should even recieve an education that people are dieing literally to have as we take advantage of it. If someone feels as though they can be productive in society else where I think she should let them do that no need in being miserable throughout highschool. Everyone has their own values and what they feel as thought is important to them. Life is short we should appreciate the things we get to experience in this life. Cherish the people around us because, long as you're still living breathing and willing you can do anything you put your mind to.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
If I could change anything about the world it would be poverty. Alot of people miss out on opportunities do to not having the money to do something. Once a persons in poverty it's pretty hard to come back from that because, it's not like you really have the money to get a head and start your own business because, that takes money like they say "it takes money to make money." In this society if you don't have money your basically a lost cause it's sad the rich do wtf they want while everyone else suffers.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
I would be a model/photographer ever since I was a baby I had a passion for getting my picture taken. Even in the hospital they kept my baby pictures as demos in Shore Memorial Hospital. It's like when I get behind a camera I am liberated I am free and I can pose and expresss myself however I want. I can be silly. I can be serious. I can be motivational! I can inspire someone else to be great. "Pictures a worth a thousand words." They capture a point and time and memories. Without them the world wouldn't be the same! Now, selfie that!
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
ReplyDeleteI'd live my life like I am now with a purpose. I would do less procrastinating though because, you really don't have that long to live and be great. Now, everyone does everything in their 20s to be living lavish in their 50s. So, I'd have to start my plans early around my pre teen years to secure my future for my 30s and 40s.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life?
Not alot at all someone's always to trying to make my decisions for me. For instance, college like this is a decision I have to live with for the next 4 years of my life unless I transfer. But, I deserve to be somewhere I'm happy. Everyone wants to be a critic with no credentials it gets pretty aggravating.
12. If you could offer a newborn only one piece of advice, what would it be?
My one piece of advice would be that your biggest set back is yourself. Live your life to the fullest don't hold your own self back from greatness. Once your older no one can stop you from being everything you want to be but, you.
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
ReplyDeletePart of me is still 5. Part of me still wants to play in a pile of dirt. Part of me still wants to color and make crafts. Part of me still wants to goof around simply be crazy, but the rest of me is grown up. Although I’m only 17, I would say I am very mature. I look at things differently than I used to. I see the reality in things, and the possible outcomes. I think about my actions and all of the consequences before I do them. I’m 17 years old but am more mature than most people a couple years older than me. In reality i’m 17 years old, but I feel like i’m 30. I believe that I would be able to live on my own, manage my own accounts and provide for myself. I believe that I know right from wrong. Mentally I am prepared for my future and am eager to move on. Mentally I am 30 years old.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Growing up, especially with my mom being a Kindergarten teacher, I always heard to story of the little train. “I think I can, I think I can.” From that phrase being implemented in me from a young age, I would say the worse thing to do is to never try. If you never try, you won’t be able to fail, and failing is just an excuse for you to work harder. Like Thomas Edison once said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” By failing you are able to practice and learn from your mistakes, by not trying, you would never know what the outcome could have been.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
This question is easy for me to answer, and probably even easier for other people to answer for me. Field hockey would be my career and I would be rich… as hell. I’ve said it a million times before, and nothing will stop me from saying it again. Field hockey makes me happy. It makes me happier than anything ever before. People are annoyed, I eat, breath, sleep field hockey, but I can’t help it. It is literally the one thing that I am certain I think about every day. Field hockey makes me happy.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
As a teenager, it’s hard to control anything that happens in life. Literally everything that happens is controlled by my parents, but actions and choices I make can help to influence and control what type of future I will have. I put an extreme amount of pressure on myself to get good grades and do well in highschool, so I can go to a great college, and do even greater things later. I may not be able to control the course of my life at the moment, but by trying my best, I can influence how my life will be in the future, for when I can control it.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
DeleteDoing the right things and doing things right are both equally important to me. That is why I feel I am most worried about doing the right things right. I follow the rules, I do what I’m told and that’s pretty much it. I wish I could say that I break some rules, go out on an adventure, but I don’t. I’ve always been to afraid of doing the wrong thing, so I just don’t try. I stay between the lines, and don’t even pass, pretty boring, but I feel better knowing that what I do is correct.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Confidence is key. Don’t be afraid. Believe in yourself. I find myself repeating those phrases all of the time. Not being confident can ruin experiences. My freshman year during field hockey I was very afraid and scared. I wasn’t confident, mainly because I was freshman playing on varsity. I was scared. I lacked confidence, and as soon as I realized it. I fixed it, and the way I played and felt on the field improved. Lacking confidence will not only affect how you feel about yourself, it could affect how others view you. Instead viewing the bubbly happy person I was, without confidence, people viewed me as the timid freshman I was being.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
I would rather lose all my old memories than never being allowed to make new ones. Looking back, the only memories I have from growing up are bad ones. In kindergarten I was student of the week and brought in my favorite candy for the class and the teacher never handed out my candy, or the time when I peed my pants because my teacher didn’t let me go because there were too many people asking. How bout the time when I was forced to play positions I hated, like goalie in soccer, lacrosse, and street hockey, or catcher in softball. Basically I would rather like to create better, happier memories then remember simple, crappy ones from when I was very young.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
My mom. This such a drastic question and I hope it would never happen. But my mom has impacted my life the most. I couldn’t imagine a day without her support. My mom is the one person I can tell everything to. My mom is my rock. My mom has been and will always be there for me, so I would want to spend her last day together.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, never trying is worse than failing. Failure is something we all need in our life. It makes us appreciate the things we do right and it encourages us to try again and be better. The only way you can fail is if you try. Never trying something will lead to never failing something, which in turn will make you never work harder. I believe that oit is okay to fail, but it is NOT okay to never try something new. If you never try youll never know.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
I would tell a newborn that you only get one life, so you should live it how you want to live it. As they grow older, they will come to realize their interests and desires and goals. I hope that my advice will encourage them to not hold back. I want them to accomplish what they have their mind set to and I want them to do it without fear and hesitation.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
One of my life dreams is to see the northern lights. Going off of pictures and videos, it is the most amazing and beautiful thing. However, there are only a couple of places throughout the world where you could see them. And, unfortunately, none of them are close to where I live. It would have to take time, money, and a lot of travel in order for me to see them. At this point in my life, I am far too busy to take the time to travel across the world. But, I do plan on doing so in the future.
18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
Yes. Holding onto a person that you know will never be in your life again is one of the hardest things to accept. I am well aware of the fact that it's time I let go, but I can't bring myself to do it. Maybe I do it because I have a sliver of hope inside of me that things will turn around. Maybe I hold on because letting go means that it's over for good.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
I like to think so. Of course I have moments where my emotions take control and I am probably not the best I could be to a friend, but overall I would want a friend that is like me. I am honest and i like to have fun. I stand up for my friends, just as I would want someone to do for me.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
Considering I live with my mom, dad, and sister, I would technically not have to visit them. Therefore, I am going to keep them out of the picture. As much as all my cousins and aunts and uncles mean to me, I would visit my grandma. My grandma is 86 years old and going strong. In her 86 years of living, she has accomplished so many things. My grandma has the sweetest soul and she means the absolute world to me. I would visit her to hear more stories about her childhood in Ireland all over again.
ReplyDelete8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
To be completely honest, I would probably be married right now. I would have 2-4 kids. My life would most likely consist of making school lunches and watching sports games, in addition to being the “team mom” in charge of bringing orange slices for halftime. I would be active, but not in the same way I am now. I would run errands and go grocery shopping and pay taxes and mortgage. Ew.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
This is horrible to think about. I would rather never be able to make new ones. My childhood is what made me who I am. The best moments are when you do something during the day and you get reminded of your past. Whether it's a certain smell, or taste, or sound, something random has the ability to bring you back to a moment in your life that had an impact on you. This feeling is amazing to me and I appreciate it more than you will ever know. I feel as if I were to lose all of my old memories, I wouldn't be who I am. I wouldn't have anything to live for, honestly. I appreciate everything in my life, good and bad, and I don't want to forget any of it because it has made me who I am.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
ReplyDeleteI’d like to change how expensive things are. Money is very important in the world we live in and without it your life can be drastically different than someone with plenty. I'd be nice if things like health care or tampons weren't so expensive. I don't really know how this could be achieved maybe a barter system could replace our current one. I just don't want someone's lack of money to stop them from having a good life and opportunities they deserve. Money is everything. It determines what clothes you wear, if you have a house, and how much food you get to eat. Lack of money could decide a person's entire future. Someone who doesn't have money might decide that doing illegal stuff is more beneficial. It could also make someone work their ass off to get to a point in their life where they are comfortable and money isn't as much as a concern.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
I would help people. I would start an organization that's main focus would be helping homeless people specifically homeless youth. I would dedicate my entire life to working in poverty stricken countries. This is the one thing that would keep me smiling for the rest of my life. I just want to make a difference even if it's just to one child. I still plan on helping people when I get older but I don't think I could do it on such a large scale. Especially because I'll need a job that can support a family. I’ll continue to do little things like volunteering at soup kitchens and donating my clothes. I hope that when I get older I can do much more.
8. If the average human lifespan was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I wouldn't go to college. It would be a waste of time. By the time I graduate and get a job more than half of my life would be over. I would probably work from the age of 16 until I got enough money to buy a PDQ power catamaran. I’d then live on that boat and travel. Or I might just scratch the whole boat thing and just take my money and go backpacking through Europe. Either way I would try to live a life filled with new experiences everyday.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Absolutely. I didn't even have to think about this one. I would do anything for the 2 most important people in my life.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
I’ve been dying to get out of Jersey. To go visit another country and just spend time in new surroundings. The only thing stopping me is money.
18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
There are people in my life that I have started to outgrow. I just feel like I am in a completely different world then those people. They are worried about meaningless drama while I’m stressing about. I’ve always been told that I am mature for my age. I'm just not worried about what most people my age are. I don't have time to keep up with who is dating who or who broke up at that party last weekend. I'm tired of meaningless conversations. I’m tired of being asked how my day was for the sole purpose of me asking about theirs. These people don't care and will ignore my answer so they can go on a long tangent about meaningless materialistic things that they won't even remember in 5 years. I'm not one to cut people out of my life but I feel like I need to re-evaluate the relationships I have been putting so much of myself into. I feel like I have been compromising myself to keep people in my life that don't really care about me. I am going to let those people go.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
DeleteThis is such a difficult question because there are people who only live in my memories. Without those memories I wouldn't be the same. But If I wasn't able to make new ones I wouldn't be able to continue to grow as a person and it might me like 50 first dates. I definitely don't want to be reminded everyday that I have kids just to forget the next day. Im going to have to go with loosing all my old memories because there are definitely things I would love to forget and the things worth remembering will be told to me again by the people I love. My mom will tell me about all the stories of little me doing silly things. She can also tell me about my dad again but this time I won't be able to see the images in my head anymore. My brother can remind me about all the fun things we did. I can always be reminded of the past and my future is something I want to be in control of which would be difficult if I could never make new memories.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
I would spend the day with my mom and brother. Yes I see them everyday but if I knew they were going to die I would like to spend that last day with them. I’d take them to Puerto Rico so I could also spend the day with my grandma. That is the island that gave birth to us and that is the island that will see us out. Most of my family lives there so towards the end of the night we would all have a going away party where I could say bye to them all. My family means the world to me and I wouldn't want to be anywhere except by their side that day. There is no one else I’d like to visit.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt the answer to this is never trying. You don’t know if you will fail or succeed if you don’t try. Failing does suck a lot but it has the ability to give you the urge to try again. You are able to fix what you did wrong if you fail, you can’t change anything if you never try something. If you never try something you never have the ability to learn from a mistake or to know if it would’ve been the best decision of your entire life. Failing creates memories and never trying creates regrets. It’s like seeing a plate of cookies. You don’t know if the cookies will be good or not so does that mean you shouldn’t try one to find out? No! You should always eat a cookie if presented with the option. Failing isn’t as bad as it sounds either. Sometimes something just might not work out for you but don’t get upset about it, just learn to accept the fact. If there is one thing that was good about track it’s that it taught be to be okay with failing and being last. If there was a race where I was put in with really good runners and I got last it didn’t mean that I was a horrible runner and it didn’t mean that I didn’t put in as good of an effort as they did. There is always going to be someone in last and sometimes it just may happen to me. You shouldn’t focus on other people though you should focus on yourself because you are the only person in your life that matters. If you fail come to terms with the fact and then move on.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
I chose this question not to answer it but to relate it to my life. I constantly talk about things that I do but don’t like and recently I’ve asked myself why I’m really doing these things if they aren’t making ME happy. That when I decided that I would do as many things that make me happy as possible. My life goal is to NOT do thing that I hate and to DO more things that I want to try. We constantly do things to please other people and it’s stupid and ridiculous because although this might sound selfish, do the things you want to do and don’t care about what other people think because at the end of your life you should be happy that you lived the life you wanted to live, not the life other people wanted you to live. If you want to go to art school or become a musician and not go to college than do it!!! Do what you want because there are very few things in this world that you can’t go back and fix. Go do what you want. The thing that I started doing this year is only doing things that made me happy. My life has been pretty nice after living by that philosophy. Once again I am going to advise everyone in the world to read the book Happiness Equation because it is the most life changing book in the entire world I promise.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
DeleteThe outlook that some people have. If I could just change ONE person’s life perspective I would die a happy woman. I want people to understand that some happiness is a choice. I want people to live beyond their bodies. Don’t live your life limited by your opinion of your body. Twenty One Pilots has an album called Vessel and the cover is a picture of the two band member’s grandfathers. I stumbled across a video the other day of Tyler explaining what it meant and it sums up my ideas about life perfectly. He basically says that eventually one day our bodies will wither away but they serve as vessels and there is really no use for a vessel but to hold and protect what is inside of it. If you think of your body as a vessel life becomes so much easier. You aren’t focused on what’s on the outside as much and what people say about it doesn’t bother you as much. You does not equal your body, you equals your soul. This is a concept I wish everyone would remember. Because your body is here to protect you and to give you a canvas to express yourself with. I also suggest that people take an anatomy course at least one point in their lives because once you realize how amazing the body is and how hard it works to keep you functioning you gain a new appreciation for it.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Working my own radio station. I love music and if I could have a job where I just sit around all day listening to it I would be a happy girl. I would also have the ability to share music with people. I constantly text people and give them songs to listen to, even if we aren’t that good of friends. If I share my music with you it’s my way of showing you are important and special to me. I have certain levels too. If I share with you my favorite tiny band ever, which I will not name for the sake of the sacredness, it means you are extremely special to me but if I show you a song that I think will be popular soon and I think is still pretty good and you might like it it means I like you. Having a job where I can express the way I feel through playing certain songs would mean a lot to me. The other great part about that job is the fact that if people don’t like the music I play they don’t have to listen to it but there would be people who choose to listen to my radio station.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
DeleteIf my life span was 40 years I would not go to college. I would immediately start training to hike the Appalachian Trail and after I would try to start my own business. I would get everything that I want to get done finished first. I would live my life even further on the edge and make every single day count. I would have wasted half of my life in school so I would figure out how to live without college and extra schooling. I wouldn’t worry about money or a nice house (not that I do anyway) and I would try every second to be happy.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
I would say I have controlled the course of my life so far about 44%. I say that because so far I haven’t really had any options besides going to school and surviving life. I am able to control the way I look at things and such but I would be in a better place to answer this question after college and later in my life. I think what I reveal to certain people and what I conceal from certain people also impacts the course my life takes drastically. I like to control the way people see me and what they know about me which has an effect on my life track. I like to be in control of a lot of things so I have a feeling that once I graduate my life will be a lot better because I can make it how I want it to be. I haven’t controlled my life yet so far so this question is hard to answer but that is my input on it.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
Hike the Appalachian Trail. Time and location are the main barrier I have but don’t ever doubt the fact that I will eventually hike it. There is nothing in the world that I will ever let hold me back from something I really want to do. In terms of hiking the trail though geography is a big issue. There are not very many mountains to hike in NJ. That is also part of why I would like to go to school in California, it will allow me to train while I’m in school. The other deal is finding someone to do it with me. I only say this because I have a fear of getting stolen or raped so hiking in nature for months at a time alone is a little nerve racking. I’m still going to do it after I find someone and I train for it because it is going to be a rough journey but I believe I can do it.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
I would share my music taste with everyone if I knew no one would judge me because the idea of someone criticizing my music taste scare me to death. I would also never buy brand anything ever again. Brand clothes are overpriced and stupid in my opinion which is why I don’t wear many brand name things but if no one would judge me I would never ever buy them. I like thrift shopping because everything is unique and you also get things for cheap. I got a pair of mom jeans for $1. I paid a single dollar for pants some people pay a hundred for. That is what I would do differently, the rest of life I could care less if people judge me for.
1. Appearance wise ‘d think I was 19, due to my facial hair and natural mature look. On the other hand, character wise I’d think I was 13, based on how I normally act with my sarcasm. When I decide when I want to be mature, in the appropriate times, I can see myself as a 19 year old with a year of adulthood under my belt.
ReplyDelete2. Never trying, life is full of opportunity and new experiences why would I hold myself back from possibly experiencing a life altering great experience?
5. If I could change one thing, I’d make this world have family peace. Everyones family would be happy and consist of two parts. A bad home and poor upbringing is the cause of a lot of turmoil in our country and globally. If everyone has a happy family, crime rate and depression would decrease.
6. I’d be rich if my occupation was being a journalist, that is my dream job, that’s what I see myself being the most successful and happiest with doing.
7. If I only lived until 40 I believe I’d probably not go to highschool, definitely not college, what is the point of spending half your life in school stressing yourself out, and learning things that in such a short amount of time wouldn't even be useful.
9. Besides where I live and who I live with, I feel I have had complete control over my life. I’ve chosen who to hang out with, where to go, what to do in my free time, what to experience, etc. No one has really influenced me or dictated where my life has gone at this point besides my mother, which happens to most kids until they move out.
13. I’d hands down break the law to save the life of a loved one, regardless of the severity, besides killing a innocent person. Nothing's means more to me than the people I love, I’d do anything for them, but I couldn’t bring myself to do something like that and any of my loved ones wouldn’t allow me to do that at the expense of their life.
23. I try to be the friend I’d like to have. I treat my friends, in my opinion great. I always incorporate them in my adventures, make sure to take care of them when they are too drunk, introduce them to my other friends, always ask them to hang, drive them places, etc.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteNever trying something is definitely worse than failing. Failing something is better because at least you tried it. Failure teaches you lessons. Failure makes you realize that you need to work harder. Never trying something shows that you are scared. It does not matter how good you are at whatever you are trying, at least you gave it a shot. Failure isn't the worst thing in the world. If you fail, get right back up and work hard so that you don't fail again. You will learn so many lessons by failing. By never trying something, what are you learning?
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
I think we do so many things we don't like is because we are forced to do it. For example, we are forced to go to school every single day, for most of the day and learn about pointless things that have nothing to do with life or what we want to be when we grow older. You do have the chance to drop out, and I am sure that a ton of people really want to, but they don't do it out of fear because you rarely see that happen and because you probably don't have an accurate plan once you drop out. We like so many things we don't do because we are here, stuck where we are, and are not not able to go and adventure out and do things we like. For instance, I would love to go travel the world, but I can't because I am stuck in high school and have to go to college and further my education, and then get a job and earn money.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
The one thing I would like to change most about the world would be the constant hate and violence towards everyone. Everyday, innocent people wake up in fear of having the place where they live attacked by evil people. Everyday, millions of people are being bullied. Everyday, someone is thinking of harming themselves. Everyday, someone actually does harm themselves. The thought of this makes me sick to my stomach. If everyone in the world would change their mindset and just be kind to everyone, our world would be so much happier. There is so much hate in this world and that is something I would do anything for to make it change.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
If happiness was the national currency I would have to say that the sport of ice hockey would make me extremely rich. Okay, you're probably wondering what?? Ice hockey?? But it’s my new found love that I watch every single day. I don't know exactly how this sport makes me happy, but I just enjoy watching it so much. And on top of that, the players are, without a doubt, the most sweetest and cutest people alive. All of them are so kind and so charitable. Seeing them make their fans happy and seeing them play makes me happy. Also, being at a live game, is so amazing. The whole atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking. If you put me in front of a TV with a hockey game on, or bring me to a hockey game, I would be extremely wealthy.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
Considering being only 16 years old, I feel like many of my actions have controlled the way my life is going. For example, when I was 7 years old, I made the choice of wanting to try soccer for the first time. And now look where I am. Also, the way I act in school and toward the work I am assigned, has led me to straight A’s, being a member of the National Honor Society, and these type of things will help me get into a good college to help further my education. I can't control everything that happens in my life, because yet again, I am only 16, but the little things I am currently doing are a start.
ReplyDelete10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
I am definitely worried about doing the right things. This is huge to me because I never like getting in trouble and I never like instigating in any trouble. I try to stay as far away from trouble as possible. I love being worry free. If I did something wrong and were trying to keep it from your parents, you are constantly worries about the idea of them finding out. So why do it in the first place? Doing things the right way worries me sometimes, only if I am under a lot of pressure. Like during soccer games, your coach is expecting you make the correct and smart decisions on the field, and if I mess up, I get stressed out. But overall, I am more worried about doing the right things.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
I would have to say I would break the law to save a loved one. If they are at risk of losing their life and I was the only person there to save them, and the only way to save them was to break the law, 100% yes I would. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I just sat there and let it happen. I would take whatever consequence to save a loved one.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
I have always wanted to go zip lining on a tropical vacation. I really do not know why this hasn't happened yet. Maybe because I have only been out of the country to three places: Bahamas, Punta Cana, and St. Maarten and during those vacations, the idea of zip lining just didn't come up or it just wasn't advertised. But if I was given the opportunity, I would 100% immediately say yes because I have always wanted to soar through the air, like I was flying, and overlook the beautiful, tropical land beneath me.
2.For me never trying is worse. Never trying new things show that you might lack courage because the only reason you never try something is because you're afraid of it in some way. Now there are exceptions to this, but for the most part not trying is much worse from failing. If you fail at something you can learn your mistakes from that failure. Then from your mistakes, you'll most likely come out victorious because you can only improve upon your own mistakes and flaws. As to not even trying at all leaves a void and a lot of questions. That's what's bad about not trying, you don't know what it can do to you and powerless to do anything about it unless you try it
ReplyDelete36. I do believe it is possible to know what is good and evil. However good and evil is similar to love, because like love it only depends on the eye of the beholder. Unfortunately, in our current time, we live in a world where extremists believe death to nonbelievers is something that their God wants. But really it depends on your parents and their parents and so on. Parents or someone similar are the only people who can shape your view of what’s good and evil. Then from your parent, you either take that mold of good and evil your parents made and follow it, or you remold from your experiences for better or worse. This, however, creates a double-edged sword, because if a terrible parent per se taught that bad is good and vice versa then you now have a convoluted mess that pessimists love to hold on to and generalize that humanity is horrible.
5. One thing I would like to change the world is to tone down ignorance, greed, and jealousy by a lot. There has been to many accounts from the beginning of recorded history where the three have cause death and misery. For example, the Gilded age of the USA: in short the U.S. government was practically controlled by big business, blocking any laws that would have regulated fair pay and a safe working environment. Then you have racism where people are truly ignorant of a person’s ability and instead of looking at their skin. And you have the Cold war where the US and The Soviets had an arms and market race to see which country was top dog. Even in our very own high school the deadly three is present and needs no elaboration.
3. Well, I think as us humans we want to enjoy almost everything the world has to offer is because of our short lives. We all know that we’re going to die one day, but for most of us, we want to do fun things because they’re fun. Then as we get older more opportunities come to us and so our ends come ever so near. So we want to make the most of it because we have no clue what awaits us in death.
10. I honestly worry about doing things right than doing the right things. As a high school junior going to college in a mere year or so make me pressure to do well on my academics. I try not to worry on what the right thing to do because I’m confident in whatever I do I know if it is right or wrong it's the way my parents and old school taught me. Heck, I think I subconsciously do the right things sometimes because in my entire childhood I’m always reminded of what is good and bad. So being a good boy is sort of drilled into my head, and if a do indeed do something bad I’d feel guilty for at least 5 days. So no I'm not worried about doing what is right because I know for sure my morals are at least good.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteNever trying is worse. Failure is something that changes you as a person. Failure is necessary and sometimes failure isn’t always a bad thing to happen. If you never try you are running away from that failure that could happen.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
The world is hard and expensive. We do the things we need to so that we can afford the fun things. But in this short life you are not guaranteed fame or glory. It is something that never comes along.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
I would play video games. It is something that takes my social life and worries away. It is something that would make me happy and make me money. Having fun is different for many and video games is my favorite.
8. If the average human lifespan was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
Id shoot my shot a lot more than i do. I sometimes don’t do all the things that I want to in my mind. I always strain away from those types of situations. I would live more carefree and reckless. I would cherish my free time a lot more.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Stay out of the wrong types of groups. Don’t start to associate yourself with the people that don’t want to see You having fun or succeeding. Don’t take shit from anyone.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Its family over everything. Family comes first and if my dad needs to rob someone or needs my help doing something I don’t exactly agree with, I would do it because I would do anything for my family and protect them for life from people trying to harm them.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
Play basketball professionally. My height is probably where I lack though. I have the shot, I have the handles, I have the defense, just lack in that 6 foot 6 inches height.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
My grandparents, then friends, then stay with my family.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
I would dress up the way I wanted and would look the way i wanted. Everyone gets so criticized so much nowadays. I would just want to wear what I want without some idiot asking me why I am wearing a shirt and pants. Not designer or polo.
1. As for how old I would be if I did not already know, it would be completely subjective. I think that you would be as old as your earliest memory, whatever that may be! It would have to be a memory you can remember the date of as well, so glimpses of your cradle, or whatever you slept in as a infant does not count. So if you can remember something from the past that can be identified and confirmed by another, that is how old you are! As long as your 1st grade teacher remembers you in her class X amount of years ago, you can confirm you are at least that amount of years old. Or option B is ask your parents, but that is too easy.
ReplyDelete2. I believe never trying HAS to be worse. If you do not try, you cannot gauge your capacity in any given area. I cannot even count the amount of things I enjoy doing if I had not tried them. Simplest case scenario: Imagine you did not even bother to watch your would-be favorite T.V. show. Yeah, the possibility that you may not have like it was there, and sure, it MIGHT have been a complete waste of time, but once you tried it, you became addicted. I mean, there are tons of other examples of this, like careers, classes, and hobbies, but I like my example better.
8. Oh man, if the average human lifespan was 40 years, HECKA things would have to change. First of all, planning for the future is OUT. Going to school for a long time is no longer viable, so once I get my four year degree, I am done! Second of all, I would definitely take more risks (maybe not physically). Go big or go home would be my new motto, because I need money, and I’d need it quick in order to fulfill step three. Third of all, I would act on all my impulses. I know, red flags go up immediately when you read that, so let me clarify: All LEGAL impulses. Trust me, I do not want to waste the short time I have behind bars. What I mean is that if I see something I like, or want to do, I’ll go for it. Skydiving? Done. Traveling the world? Done. Nintendo Switch? It is already at my house. I have no time to waste being sad or unhappy.
9. Now that I think about it, I do not really have control over my life. I mean, yes, I can choose where I want to eat, and most of the places I want to go, but the majority is decided for me. Where I live, who I live with, what I eat for dinner (most of the time), when I can watch T.V., and when I can sleep as well! It’s a rough life out here.
17. Oh, this one is easy! I would so be a gaming youtuber. I like playing video games, I like making people laugh. To sit down and do what I love is the dream. If I had the time and money, I’d already have started. Too bad all the good games are like $60!!! I guess I got to move to PC games, and download steam already, cause my wallet cannot handle that kinda stress. Even so, I probably still could do it. I could get a real job, or I could just manage with what I have. The real roadblock is time. The amount of time it takes to make, edit, and render a video takes WAY too much time for me, but that’s because I’m me. I hate to cut corners, and only do so in a pinch. All these AP classes take up my entire life too because I’m a procrastinator, so until I get my life together, I shouldn’t really follow that dream.
36. Yes, it is possible to determine what is good and what is evil. However it is very subjective, and completely depends on the person and their feelings. I do believe there is a “moral compass” within everyone, and most of the world has it tuned in the same direction.
41. Aw man, that’s a killer question. I would want to visit some of my friends for sure! However family comes first right? I’m assuming this question involves family too.
46. If I knew no one was going to judge me, I’d come to school naked. Just kidding, I would just be a lot more honest, about everything. Okay, everything appropriate.
What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
ReplyDeleteThe way that women treat each other. It’s something that I will never understand. I will never understand why we gang up against each other, as if society doesn’t do that to us enough already. I will never understand our rivalry as women to try and ruin another woman’s life or relationship. I will never understand a woman who chooses to try and be with someone who is already taken and not care at all about the heart that she is breaking on the other end. I will never understand that whole “I don’t care, that’s not my friend, so her man is up for grabs” bullshit. I will never understand why we can’t let each other be happy, why we can’t respect each other as couples or even as humans. If I could change anything, I would make women realize that we have to stick together. Not some of us, not just within a certain circle, but all of us. Because we all deserve happiness. And nothing is worse than having that happiness taken away from us by another woman and feeling as though it’s a competition. Real queens fix each other’s crowns--they don’t rip them from others’ heads.
If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
No doubt in my mind, I would immediately go to the Hay household as my first stop to say my goodbyes to my first three people. I would go to Teagen and tell her how much I appreciate her for everything she’s done for me over the past few years, for always helping me get my life together, and for always making me laugh. Then to my best friend, so I could let him know that I love him endlessly, and that I’m so proud of him for everything that he has overcome and that he is the reason I keep pushing. Then to the love of my life, to tell him that there is no one else that I would have rather spent the last two years with, or my last day with, to tell him that I have never loved anyone or anything more, and thank you for showing me true happiness. After I left their house, I would go to Kennedy and Jenna and thank them for being my very best friends and for keeping me smiling on even my lowest days. Then a plane to Rhode Island to tell my brother that I love him and that if we were all going to live on, I know in my heart that he’s the only person that I will ever need. Then, I would go home, to say goodbye to my parents, and tell them that the have given me the greatest life they could and I will be eternally grateful for all the sacrifices they have made for me.
Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Never trying. Failing sucks, I know. But never trying holds you back from succeeding. Life has a way of making the impossible happen at the most unexpected times. And there’s always the possibility of failing. But there’s always the possibility of succeeding too. And to live your life based on “what if”s is the wrong way to live.
If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
That they are genius in their own way. Life may not be too nice to them in their early years when everyone is forcing it into their heads that success is determined by a grade and that they will live the first 18 years of their life being a number. I would want them to know that they may not be the smartest kid in the class and they may not be cut out for medical school or even college. But they will find something that they are amazing at, whether it is music, art, sports, theater, and they will be able to wow the world with that instead, and that is equally amazing.
Would you break the law to save a loved one?
I break the law every Saturday night for a 3 hour buzz. This isn’t even a question for me. I would go to a thousand worlds and back for someone that I loved. And if breaking the law, regardless of the severity of the consequences meant to save a loved one, I would not hesitate to do so. Not even for a second.
Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
ReplyDeleteI would much rather lose all of my old memories. They’re not all that great anyway. I would much rather use the room I have for memories for what is still yet to come, because most of what already came is shitty anyway.
Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
Most definitely doing the right thing. Forget about doing something right, or how someone else thinks it should be done. No matter what I’m told, or the authority that anyone has, nothing will override my morals and keep me from doing what’s right.
2. Never trying is worse because you would never know if you were good at something. Failing is better because you at least tried to figure out if you were good at something or not.
ReplyDelete3. Most of the things we don't like to do happen to be things forced upon us that we don't want to do but need to do. The things we want to do tend to be the things we can never do because we always stuck with doing the things we hate.
5. One thing about the world I would change is for everybody to stop being so sensitive about everything in life. People need to calm down sometimes and not get so offended about everything.
8. I would definitely not worry about a definite job but do more in life because it will all go by fast especially 40 years.
10. I will always try to do things right because if I don't do things right I will remember it for along time and beat my self up for it which is something I do a lot. I like to do the right thing but I wouldn't be able to live with myself doing everything wrong.
17. I have always wanted to play guitar as good as any guitarist out their. The thing that is holding me back is me because I always decide to just focus on school and play video games afterwards.
23. I would love to be friends with me too be honest and I am glad of who I am as a friend. I don't know how other people feel but I feel that I am a good friend overall.
46. I would definitely speak out more and say what was on my mind a lot more. I want to talk about politics a lot more in life but I am afraid people will judge my opinion so I keep it to myself unless asked.
ReplyDelete10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
Without a doubt I am more worried about doing things right. If I’m focused on doing something right, I’d like to think that whatever it is that I’m doing, is the right thing. And if it’s not, I still wouldn’t think twice about doing it. I like to follow my heart go with my gut instinct without thinking about the possible consequences. I don’t regret things, if I thought I was going to regret something I wouldn’t have done it in the first place. Everything happens for a reason, and if I’m doing things right and meeting my own expectations, I’m happy.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
The same “work” I hope to pursue in the future, teaching music. Music is something that’ll always make me happy. And I love teaching and the idea of helping people learn about something I’m so passionate about. If happiness was a national currency, this would definitely make me rich. Especially since music is the one thing I know is my forte and I can teach it. Helping students develop a love for music such as mine, happiness isn’t even the word to describe it.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
I would visit nobody. I know that sounds really bad, but hear me out. I’m a very religious person, and I truly believe in heaven and there being an “after life” with all my heart. If everyone was going to die tomorrow I’d see them in heaven. And if they didn’t go to heaven, it’s probably best I don’t see them again because they aren’t worth my time. I would also most likely be in too much trauma and shock if I found out everyone was going to die tomorrow and wouldn’t know what to do.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
First, I really don’t see how it would ever be possible to stop making new memories. If you’re living, breathing, seeing, etc, you are making more, new memories. The only possible way to not make new memories would be to die. But if I had to choose between losing all my old memories or never making new ones, I would have to say never making new ones. I cherish all of my “old” memories and hold them all so close to my heart. Mostly being because all I have left of my dad are memories. I can only remember him, as well as the other members of my family that are no longer with me. If I lost them I wouldn’t be able to live with myself, I wouldn’t even know who my dad was if it wasn’t for my old memories.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
I have not controlled the course my life has taken to any degree whatsoever. The biggest decision I’ve ever made was going into music, and I was in fourth grade so I don’t know if that counts or not. People listen to me, but they don’t really listen to me. I’m a helpless, little, teenage girl that only cares about her phone, right? Why would anyone listen to me, I obviously don’t know what I’m talking about. It’s not like I’m a junior in high school who would have any sort of control over her own life. Am I even graduating next year?
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
To any extent, any consequence I would break the law to save a loved one. Family is family, and I’ll take all charges, serve all time, and any other cruel or unusual punishment if that means saving a loved one. If I lost a loved one, knowing I could’ve done something to save them, I would never forgive myself for it. I would live with that with me the rest of my life. I would do anything, breaking the law for any of them would be no big deal.
Delete2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
I always tell myself failure with trial beats failure without it. Failing utterly sucks, and it always will no matter what. But you always have to give yourself the benefit of the doubt for trying. I would rather die trying than live in regret for not trying at all. But it also all depends on how you want to be looked at, someone who’s afraid of failing, or someone who can pull themselves back up and push forward. Never trying, to me, is failing already. If you fail, what do you have to lose? Never trying is far far worse than failing could ever be.
36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
Yes there is. Life is perspective, everything surrounding us is perspective. But each and every one of us has our own perspective and see everything differently, see every situation differently. You may think something is good, when to someone else they may think the opposite. You may think something is a total sin against God himself, but to someone else they might not think anything of it. Sometimes doing something “good” can result in something evil. And sometimes doing something “evil” can have a positive outcome. No one person can really say. But each one of us has an instinct, to us, what is good and what is evil.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteNever trying at something is always worse than failing it. Failures are bound to happen in life and in that moment you should just try again until you succeed. But you can't succeed if you never try.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
If I could change one thing about the world I would change all of the hatred towards certain groups of people. I would make it so that everyone would treat each other as they were the same.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I would live my life as there was no tomorrow. I would make sure to do everything and try everything that I possibly could in those 40 short years.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
I myself am always worried about doing things right. I hate when I fail at things even though I know it is bound to happen but I always find myself worrying about not doing something the right way.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
I have always treated my friends with respect and have always been a really fun friend and this is the type of friend I would want as a friend.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
I would definitely break the law to save a loved one. I wouldn't care what law it would be just the fact that they could die and I could do something even if it involved breaking the law I would still do it.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
This one was a a lot harder to think about but I would rather loose all of the memories I have. There are so many more memories to be made in my life that are ahead of me such as college and having a family so they are more important than the memories I have now.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
If everyone were to die tomorrow I would visit my whole family today. I would gather everyone together in my life and we would talk about all the great times and memories we had together.
2. Never trying is definitely worse than failing in my opinion. Failure is something that comes along with life and with trying new things. It is something that happens to everyone and it has its benefits. Failing can be good because it can teach you and make you better. Not trying is giving up and not putting any effort in and this is worse than failing. Trying your hardest is what you should always do no matter what.
ReplyDelete3. People are trying to do what’s best for them in the long run. So, if they have to do something that they don’t like because it will benefit them in the future, then that’s what they will do. Some people hate their jobs, but they do it because they need to make money for themselves and their family somehow. Happiness should come first, but sometimes you have to make a sacrifice and do what’s best even though you may not like it.
5. I would like to change all the hatred that people have in this world. Some people make others feel like shit for no reason at all and it doesn’t make any sense. I know that there will always be people in the world that always have something negative to say to somebody for no apparent reason. I wish that we could all have an open mind and not judge people. Unfortunately, these people will always be out there and the best thing that we can do is ignore them and think about all the people that love you for who you are.
8. If the average life span was 40 years, then I would be doing so much during my life. Everything that I would do would be something that made me happy. My whole life would be doing a bunch of fun things with my friends and family and living life to the fullest. I would have a bucket list and I would be in a rush to get all the things done on it because it would be a huge list that I would be determined to complete.
12. My advice to a newborn would be to do what you think is best and don’t let other people control what you want to accomplish in your life. If you want to do it, go do it and don’t let people tell you that you can’t. Ignore the people that hate on you and cherish the friends and family that will always be there for you. Appreciate everything and everyone and live your life doing what makes you happy.
17. One thing I would love to do is travel the World and see what other places have. I hear about all these fun places in the U.S. and even in other countries, but I have never been anywhere other than the east coast. Money is probably the one thing holding me back, but one day even if it takes long, I’m exploring the world because there are so many cool things to enjoy and make me happy.
36. I think it is possible to know what is good and what is evil. We know as people what is good and what is bad. I honestly think that we can know doubt tell when something is good and when something is evil.
46. I would probably be a lot happier than I am now because there is always somebody that has to say something to you that is unnecessary to say. It always happens and it makes me wonder why people care so much about what you do instead of worrying about themselves. If I knew nobody was judging then would feel a lot better to be honest.
2. Never trying is always worse than failing. Now let me explain. You cannot fail if you never try. If you never try the drivers test you’ll never fail. If you never start your diet to get the abs you want then you are going to fail. If you never try and study for AP Lang death month quizzes you aren’t pushing yourself to do well on the exam. If you do not push yourself to try you will not get anywhere. That's like getting in a boat without any ores, you may float but you aren’t really going to get anywhere. And yes you may fail from time to time but you always learn from your mistakes/failures. You get back up and try again.
ReplyDelete5. The people in this world. I’d love to change the people in this world. Not the beauty of this world but the hate in it. The bullies, the rude people, and the people who don’t have hearts. If I could change one thing about this world it would be the hate. I wish I could take a giant vacuum and suck up all the hate. That way people will spread positivity. Everyone needs positivity in their life and without hate more positive vibes can be sent towards people.
10. Some people believe that doing the right things is best for people, but that’s not me. I believe in doing things right. If your parents believe going to a college close to home is doing the right thing would you do it? If you believe in doing the right things then you most likely will. For me all I wish to do is to do things right. Whether I do things right career wise, education wise, family life wise, or relationship wise. I just want to live my life doing things right. I haven’t necessarily had the best of role models but that only motivates me to do right in life. I was only given one life and I’m trying my best to not screw it up.
13. If my mother, father, or sisters were in trouble and needed my help hell yeah I’d save them. By all means I’d save my loved ones. It would depend on what laws I’d have to break. If it’s a minor law I’m willing to break it. If my family member needed me to hide drugs for them in my house because the cops have been following them around then thats a hell no. If my family member needed me to steal that is a no too because I despise stealing. I’m willing to break a minor law for family. If it’s to save their life I’m most certainly breaking any law because I cannot lived without my loved ones.
46. This question brings a lot to my mind. First and foremost I would’ve came out a lot sooner. If no one judged people based on their sexuality then I would’ve told people all about my grade school girl crushes. If my grandmother wasn’t so racist I could’ve brought home some of my boyfriends but instead I kept them secret. If no one judged me I wouldn’t be so afraid to talk to people. I wouldn’t be so afraid to be open with people about my emotions because I would know they wouldn’t judge me for them. If I knew nobody would judge me I would’ve done so much in my life differently believe me.
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? (I love this one!)
ReplyDeleteI would most likely be around mid-twenties (24-26) because while I do believe I’m more mature than the typical teenager I also don’t have many qualities of an adult with a life plan. From my athletic drive to the many days I spend either watching TV, playing video games, or sleeping it easy to tell that I’m not worried about the same responsibilities that come later in life.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Never trying is almost always worse than failing (I can’t think of a time when it’s better but there’s bound to be one instance). When we fail in life the feeling of sadness or frustration depends on the situation but you can always get over because you know you tried to succeed but when you don’t try you’re left with this hole that can never be filled. The sad part is that a majority of people, including me, still don’t try with some things and you’re always left asking “What if?”.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
While we complain that life is short it really isn’t. An average 80-year life is much more compared to the lifespan of say dogs and cats. With that much time, people have the opportunity to determine what is important to them in life and we’re willing to make sacrifices in order to achieve those things we like. No one has a perfect life but we all try our best to have the one we wish we could have.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
If I could change the world I would make it so people are more caring. Everyone’s looking to start a fight or hurt someone else to make their life better and that’s the major problem with people. I’m not saying we all have to agree with one another or like each other but we need to make our best effort to see the person behind the beliefs.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Two things that bring me the most happiness without any discomfort are video games and animals. Any career in which I get to play video games like a Youtuber would be my top choice. A lot of jobs involving animals can have some responsibilities but being a Vet or any such job would be a close second to playing games.
8. If the average human lifespan was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
If I was told I only had about 40 years on this planet I probably wouldn’t change how I conduct my life but the pace at which I do it. Right now I’m looking for a great college where I can hopefully determine what field I want to spend my life in but if I was pressed time I would easily take the quickest route I could versus the highest quality. I would also be more focused on finding someone to share the rest of my life with.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
We all are dealt different hands when it comes to life and in some cases are paths are forced in one direction. Most times, however , we can choose to overcome those obstacles so while I may not have had the easiest path I have had almost total control on where my path leads me.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
“Don’t be an idiot trying to speak to a child that can’t understand you”. But in a situation that they would actually understand me my advice would be that “the world can be a dark place but no matter what you must bend but never break”. Humans have prevailed through the worst of times and while I might not know what comes after life I can tell you that all life is valuable so don’t cut your time short.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Depends on the crime but in most cases, it would be a definite yes. Murder and other crimes which hurt others would be ones that I don’t break but anything else is fair game. Life is the most valuable thing on this planet so as long as I’m not sacrificing one for another than it seems like an easy decision.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
DeleteI’ve tried to be the best friend that I can be or at least what I believe is the best. It’s hard to really control as most of it comes down to my personality and whether someone likes it or not. I usually adapt to what my friends want from having a conversation about whatever’s on their mind to just wanting to have fun watching a movie or whatever.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
This question has been the hardest to answer but I would have to keep my old memories and never make new ones. While I could grow up to have so any amazing experiences with fond memories I just can’t lose some that I have now. One of the most influential forces, when I was younger, was my dog Kiki who we received when I was around 5 and I could never, and I mean never, be the same person I am today without her. The same can be said about my family as without them sending me in the right direction who knows where I would be now. I also can’t stand to think of how I wouldn’t even remember my own mother when she’s right in front of me. I would also forget my friends and the people I’ve loved and that’s something I can’t let go of.
34. Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?
Friendships and relationships in which you don’t need to speak are the best. I like having long conversations with friends but if we don’t need the conversation to hang out then I feel it shows how strong the friendship really is. Silent hangouts are better than most of the conversations I have anyway.
36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
There is a major ocean of gray between good and evil but there are some that are clear as day one or the other. Murder, as an example, is without a doubt evil and when I say murder I don’t mean you killed someone in self-defense but you intentionally killed someone. While sacrificing yourself to save others is only someone with good in them, even if it’s the tiniest bit, can do.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
I would make sure I visit all close family members (the ones that actually know me versus cousins who don’t even know I exist) as well as my friends. I would definitely be doing something fun with friends and family to make last day enjoyable. It would also be nice spending a lot of time with my crush because they hold a different place that many others.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
If I knew no one would judge me then it would probably take away my fear in speaking from on stage presentations to a cashier when I’m buying something. Other than that it wouldn’t change me much because I try to be myself as much as possible and not let others change who I truly am.

ReplyDelete1…If I didn’t know how old I was, I would probably be around 20 years old. Despite the fact that I’m constantly asked at restaurants if I would like to try their newest martini flavor, given that I sometimes do not look like I am a teenager, I would say that I would be 20 years old because I feel as though I have that level of maturity. I feel like I have always been a little mature for my age, along with the fact that I have always had an idea of what I want to do with my life, so I would be 20 simply because at that age a lot of people are figuring out which path they want to walk on, when I already have that established.
ReplyDelete2…Definitely, without a doubt, not trying is worse than failing. It’s okay to fail. It’s normal. It’s life. That’s how we learn and get back up on our feet. Without trying, we wouldn’t know what it feels like to fail, and if you treat failure as something positive, we wouldn’t know how to learn from our mistakes or what we did wrong. I don’t think I have ever heard anyone say “I wish I didn’t try”.
5…I could go on and on about all the things I would change, but the first thing that comes to mind would be respect. I think this world is in desperate need of a lesson on respect. I believe that a lot of our problems regarding connecting as a whole and uniting as one comes from the fact that we don’t even know how to respect one another.
6… Hahahahaha…I WOULD BE AN ICE CREAM TASTER. Incase you didn’t know, ice cream is my #1 favorite thing on this planet, and it does nothing less than make me the happiest girl in the world. So, if happiness was the national currency, ice cream tasting would make me richer than Kim Kardashian.
10… I am definitely a goodie goodie. Like, THE ultimate goodie goodie, so I am definitely more worried about doing the right things rather than doing things right. As mentioned before, I accept failure because I believe it has the power to make one better, so doing things right isn’t always my concern. However, I am ALWAYS paranoid about whether or not I am doing the right thing.
13…I would not think twice about breaking the law to save a loved one. I know that’s kinda crazy for me to say considering I just stated that I am the biggest goodie goodie ever, but when it comes to loved ones, I would not dare hesitate about breaking a law if it meant that I was saving them.
18…100%, without a doubt, no hesitation, absolutely, definitely, YES, AND IT IS SOMETHING THAT I NEED TO LET GO OF SOON. My mind controls me, therefore it gets the best of me, where I get stuck on certain events in my life and am forbidden from letting them go and freeing myself from the pain and anger that they have caused me. This is a major weakness of mine, and I am very well aware that whatever I am holding on to needs to be let go, but I wish it were just that easy.
41… If I knew that everyone was going to die tomorrow, I would visit my grandma. I’ve briefly talked about her before but to sum it all up, my grandma is the most amazing person I know and I am so lucky to have her in my life. Visiting her the day before I die would make dying seem less terrifying.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
ReplyDeleteI would have two options. One, a career my family would feel proud of me with and many people would thank me with. Or two, a career I would be able to have a relaxed smile with and say, “I feel freedom”.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
None. From waking up early to going to school, from graduating to getting into college, from passing exams to finding a job. I feel like I’m stuck in the path of what society expects you to be. Watching anime, reading manga, taking pictures, drawing, society doesn’t think much about those and if you even think about pursuing a job in photography or becoming an artist, people will start looking down at you.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
So it’s between following whatever society think is right or following whatever my intuition think is right. If I choose “doing things right”, then I would live a steady and easy-flowing, but free-less life. But if I choose “doing the right things”, then I would have a more chaotic and wild life. It’s not absolute, but for now, I’m more worried about doing things right. “Have to pass the AP exams, get an acceptable SAT score, and enter a good college!”
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Learn to be independent. Once you step out into the world, you won’t always have someone by your side to save your ass.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Yes. To me, it is an impulse. If they’re dying or about to give birth, I would forget about the speed limits and drive as fast as I can to bring them to the hospital.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
If I lose my old memories, does that mean the new ones I make, which will become old memories, be lost as well? If I never get to make new ones, does that mean I will forget whatever I did within seconds? If so, then I choose to never make new ones. That way, I would still have some sort of memories, at least know my identity, and not be a blank slate. I mean, I’ve been forgetting a lot of things lately anyway, so it’s not any different than “never making new ones”.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
My grandmother. She is the woman who looked after me since I was a child. While my parents were busy working and earning enough money for the family, my grandmother was the one who saw me grow up each day, who helped me go through trouble times. She is the one and only person I feel closest to, the one and only person who understands me best.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
If nobody judged me, I would speak my mind. I have many thoughts and secrets locked up inside me. When I was little, I used to write down my thoughts in notebooks because I couldn’t hold them in. I jot down my frustrations, my happiness, and my sadness. I would then hide the notebook in a place where no one would find it and keep my thoughts and secrets shut between the cardboard covers. If nobody judged me, I would pursue a career I desire. I would pursue photography. I would strive to become an artist. I would take on the arts more seriously.
ReplyDelete1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? (I love this one!)
I would be my age. Regardless to me knowing it or not, I would be however old I actually am. My age is independent with how old I think. So therefore Id be my age
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Never trying because you can only fail if you give up. Never trying is no way to live your life. You miss 100% of shots you never take.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
Because we like things that we do not have. We long for the thins we like. They are special because we don't have them all the time.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
paper cuts
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Ice cream truck because who isn't happy when they are buying an ice cream cone
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I'd Live it just like I do Now, as if Im going to die tomorrow. You only live ones and you don't live to long so make it worth it and meaningful.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
My decisions have lead me to where I am. I am in control of my own fate. I am responsible for my own fate. I am in control. I can not be contained because I am the container, and the container cannot be contained.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
Doing the right thing. Just because its the right way to do something doesn't make it right or ok.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
I'd probably give them a pretty big piece. In fact, It be so big a piece, it be the whole thing. So if advice was a cake and the baby wanted some, I'd give them the whole thing. That way they have plenty for themselves and extra to share.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Of course I would. I love them. A lot of the people i love are my family. Blood is thicker than water so you bet my bottom dollar I would.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
Skydiving. Need to find someone who actually does it.
18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
Probably like a hot bowl or plate straight out of the microwave. Like ouch it burns and you should probably let it go but like, its food and its mine so I'M just going to do my thing.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
Yes. Treat others the way you want to be treated. I don't want to be treated like trash so I am not going to treat my friends or anyone else like trash.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
I would lose the old ones. Yes I have some great memories but you can always make new memories.
34. Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?
Nope. I feel like most people these days do not know how to have a good conversation anymore. You have to really be something to impress me enough to the point where i think it was a good conversation.
36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
Yes it is possible because I already know what is right and what is wrong.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
My brother Mitchell so we could collaborate and make this giant group chat so we could say goodbye to everyone.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
Probably burp without saying excuse me.
(I know I didn't have to answer them all. I just felt like it)
Delete1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? (I love this one!)
ReplyDeleteI would be 22. I find myself to be so much more mature than the people around me. People my actual age are so immature and act like children. I know a lot of adults who complement how much I act like a grown up. I may not be the top ten in my class but at least I don’t act like little kid.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Studying sharks in Hawaii or Australia.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I would try to be more spontaneous. I feel like I don't take enough risk in life and if I knew I only had 40 years to live I would make life an adventure. I wouldn't care as much about school or what people thought about me.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Don’t ever give a single fuck about what anyone has to say about you. You are unique so there is no need to try to be the same as everyone else. Being like everyone else is boring. Find your style. Find the music YOU like, the clothes YOU like, find the shows YOU like to watch. Don’t settle just because you want to fit in. It is not worth it.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
I really want to travel to Germany. My grandparents came to america from germany after the war and I’ve always wanted to see where they come from. I can’t go to Germany because I don’t have the money and my parents don’t want to go.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
Yes, I am always there for my friends. I don’t talk shit like the normal teenage girls, I will always listen to your problems, and there will never be a time that I will judge you. I wish people were as nice to me as I am to them.
36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
No, you can never make everyone in the world happy. Everything you do will be seen as either good or evil. It depends on the person.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
I would wear sweats, a t shirt, and no bra every day.
1.I actually had to think of this question for a second. Because at first, I thought it was a trick question because I like to think very logically and I honestly thought the only answers could be a 80 year old elderly person who has Alzheimer's or a newborn child. But then it hit me. What if it's actually someone like a war veteran who can't escape the fears of war or maybe it's a middle aged man who is going through a serious drug addiction. For me, I'd probably be an old man in my 80’s or maybe even 90’s if I live that long.
ReplyDelete5. Everyone has equal rights. There is no other answer than this for me because all anybody ever fights for is respect or equality. I can name you a dozen groups right now who are doing that exact thing right now. We could all be a little bit more happier if we can just be equal. That is when we'll truly see who the psychopaths of this world are, who wish for something either than that.
6. If happiness was the national currency, then being a Samaritan or a mensch would be the job that everyone goes for. Except that it wouldn't really be a job, just a responsibility to have. Why can't it be like that now? Instead, all anybody ever wants is the thing that makes the earth go round, which is actually really sad.
8. If my life span was 40 years, there wouldn't actually be much change to what I do. I mean centuries ago, when there would be people dying in their 30’s, they lived their live the way they wanted. They had responsibilities and a family to care for and they weren't thinking about death, they were thinking about how they're going to provide for their family. Some, as a matter of fact I think most, would oppose this feeling I have, but you can only do so much in a lifetime and when you've accomplished so much in a life span, you finally rest. But if you haven't, you come back to life in a new form.
12. “Just be whoever you are.” Because that's the one thing you can always do right in your life, no matter if it's short or long. Being someone you're not is cheating yourself over and causing more anxiety for you. So just do you.
23. Yes. I truly think so because I want to be treated as if I'm your brother or your sister and not a lot of people do that anymore. Which is sad but that's just another unwritten responsibility for the human race to take upon; be a better friend to your friends. Treat others the way you want to be treated and you get taught that in kindergarten.
26. “Learn from the past, live in the present and prepare for the future.” That quote is actually by me and I don't know if anybody else has said that but if not, yay me for coming with that quote. We can't live in the past and we can't learn from the future so we just have to adapt. And to adapt is to make new memories that replaces the old ones.
46. Nothing. Because nothing in this lifetime has prompted me to become a bad person (yet and hopefully never). You can judge all you want, it can't change who I am as a person. And that is someone who genuinely cares and wants to see you smile. And we need more people like that.
2. Failing seems daunting, but you never realize your mistake of not trying until after it’s over when the regret hits. There are so many more could’ves, would’ves, and should’ves after not trying than failing at it. At least you tried and it’s an actual experience that you can learn from and grow from, instead of basing future actions on possible imagined scenarios.
ReplyDelete12. Be yourself. Life is so much easier and happier if you’re self confident right from the start.
13. Yes, I would break the law for a loved one. There are always exceptions to rules. Although my scenario may not be an exception, I would do it for the right reasons because some laws are stupid.
18. I need to let go of my bad self image because it holds me back. This goes along with #12.
23. I don’t know how to comfort someone, how to make someone really laugh, or how to help someone stay up late to finish homework. I’m selfish sometimes and I don’t like to talk a lot. So, no I’ve not been the kind of friend that I have right now, and I feel bad for not being it. But, I wish I was.
26. I would rather lose all of my old memories. I’m not even through half of my life yet (hopefully) and there’s so much to do and remember. In every book that I’ve read where it has a character lose memories, they always remember the strong feelings that were attached to significant places and characters, even if they couldn’t place it. Although it might not be perfect, memories can be reconstructed from other people’s minds too.
36. Good and evil is subjective, just like most things in life. There are different point of views that have to be accounted for in order to make decisions that affect others. What I might think it right or wrong might be the opposite for you.
46. If I knew nobody would judge me, I would sing. I’m an awful singer and I wish I could sing well, but that’s life- everyone is not the same. I would sing in the shower, in the car, while I’m doing homework, etc. Though, I wouldn’t sing that often in public because I don’t want to subject that many people to the torture.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteNever trying to succeed is worse than just failing. If you do not try, then you are just asking for failure. With failing, at least you know that you have tried your hardest, increasing your chances of succeeding by actually putting work into it. If you just don’t try, then the chances of actually being successful are zero percent. If you never try to do something, then your life would be full of regrets and whenever you look back at a moment, you will continuously question yourself, “what would have happened if I tried back then?” Or “would things be better if I have tried to make an effort?” It is always best to at least attempt something than just giving up and lose motivation in trying.
8. If the average human lifespan was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
If the average human lifespan reverted back to 40 years, just like how it was in the 1800’s, I would be less afraid of committing to the acts that may seem risky or dangerous. I would become more outgoing and I will make an attempt to live most of my life with my friends. I would not waste any time in making new friends and my courage to do something new would be greater than what it is now. I would not be afraid to get into a relationship or become more active in activities that I always wished I would do.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
I am more worried about doing things right more than doing the right things. One of my biggest fears is doing something wrong and getting reprimanded for it. I always strive to do something right and follow the directions. My fear of the consequences overpowers my worries over doing the right things. If I do not do something right, then other people will look down upon it and I would be judged based on my wrongs. I wish I would worry more about doing the right things, but sadly, I tend to worry about doing things right.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Yes. I would not hesitate to shoot a gun or stab someone just to protect my loved one from being murdered. I would not perform a bank heist, but I would steal something valuable from a rich person if I needed money for any medical procedure that will save their life. Even something as little as speeding down the highway just to get my loved one to the hospital.
18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
DeleteYes, I am holding onto some of my childhood stuff that I should have gotten rid of years ago and there are also some secrets that I do not tell anyone. I have a bunch of secrets and stories that are detrimental to even keep holding in, but they are also the kinds of things that are not easily shareable to the public.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
I would rather lose all of my old memories rather than not having the ability to make new ones. Even though losing all of my old memories means that I lose my own personality and become a different person, losing the ability to make new ones is on the same level as dying. I would not be able to make new friends, learn anything new, or progress in life. Even though losing my old memories means starting over, I would rather have that than not being able to continue. I would just be stuck in the past if I was not able to make any new memories. I want to look to the future and be able to create new ones even if it means pressing delete on everything in my brain and everything that makes up me as a person.
34. Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?
Yes, it is usually with my parents. I always try to avoid speaking to my parents since it usually leads to an argument or me getting grounded for the hundredth time. The best conversations with my mother are literally the ones where we just say nothing to each other and ignore each other, which does not occur a lot, unfortunately.
36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
No. People’s opinions on whether something is good or evil is based on their experiences or of their current knowledge. People may do something for “justice,” but they may be ignorant of all of the evils that go along with their pursuit of justice. For instance, someone killing a bunch of criminals for the name of justice can be seen as an evil act since murder is still a crime. There is no way of knowing whether something is good or evil.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
I would not be afraid to express myself and I would not have a shy personality. I would be able to easily be open about the things that I like and what interests me. I do not have to try to fit in with society and not be outcast as a “weirdo.” I would say what’s on my mind and I wouldn’t have to keep so many secrets from my friends since I would not have to fear criticism.
If I didn’t know how old I really am, I would definitely be 10. Today I went out for breakfast with the family. When the waitress asked what we all wanted to drink, I heard mixed answers of Orange Juice, Water, and Coffee. I insisted on the chocolate milk, which lead to Kendall calling me childish, which brought flashbacks of the last time I asked for apple juice. Today Jana called me childish for my icecream selection, in which I responded “What’s wrong with being childish, there’s no point in growing up.” Also, I’m still caught in the stage of asking “why” about every little thing, like a 10 year old who is just starting to create a concept of the world.
ReplyDeleteIf I could change one thing about the world, I would make one universal language. The language barrier separates many cultures and creeds from coming together as one. I saw an article the other day that was headlined “If aliens came to earth and discovered we had hundreds of countries and languages, would they be surprised?” I thought about it and decided that yes, they would be surprised, because separation hinders advancement.
I’m wayyyy more concerned with doing the right thing, than doing things right. Mr. Leathers, one of the most inspirational people I’ve ever came across, always says “Do what your suppose to do at 100%, because even if you’re wrong, something good will happen.” So far I’ve followed his advice, and I’ve been surrounded by positives. Also, if you do the wrong thing right, what have you really accomplished?
If I had to offer a newborn child with advice, it would be to ask as many questions as possible, and never take “because” as an answer. The key to obtaining knowledge is to pick people’s brains. In today’s world, people ask questions to know the initial answer, and don’t think any deeper. Nobody asks “why?”, and I think that's where society crashed.
Never trying is a million times worse than never trying. If you try and fail, so what? Nothing happens. But if you try and succeed, you are rewarded. Nothing negative comes from failing, unless you want it to.
If I knew my life span was only 4 years, I’d travel. I probably wouldn’t even finish high school. I’d make quick money, live check to check, and live in the moment. I would do what I wanted. I wouldn’t plan for the future. I would find a way to make things work, and live everyday to it’s full potential.
I would break every law there is to save a loved one, unless I had to take the life of multiple people. But if I had to throw away my entire life for someone who holds a special place in my heart, I would do it without a doubt, with amazing speed.
I am holding on to the things I can’t change. I still don’t realize that Mays Landing is my home, and I have to stop wishing to leave this place, because I can’t right now. I have to enjoy it. I have to move on in my love life. I have to accept that most people aren’t like me. I have to let go of the things I cannot control, and focus on the things I can impact.
1. I'd be 19 because I usually get people guessing that as my age, and I hang out around a lot of 19 year old people.
ReplyDelete2. Failing feels much worse than never trying. But never trying sucks because you never know whether you would have succeeded or not.
3. The answer to this is, because we are forced to due to the necessities of life, or the government makes us.
8. I wouldn't go to school. I'd do a crap ton of things that I wouldn't do if I were thinking about how old I wanted to grow to be.
9. I haven't really controlled my life by myself. I kind of just go with the flow and let whatever happens happen.
12. I would tell a newborn child to do whatever makes it happy, because at the end of the day, if what you're doing doesn't benefit you, or make you happy, you shouldn't be doing it.
13. Yes, I would.
18.Yes, I am. And it sucks because I know that it's horrible for me and does me no good but I just can't let it go.
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
ReplyDeleteIf I lost count of my age starting from when I was born, I would age myself to about 30 years and also 17 years. I would say that I am 30 years old because of the collection of white hair I have and also my parent-side. In the Nepalese community in NJ and surrounding states, I am one of the eldest in my generation. And thus, I see myself as a role model for the kids younger than me and since most of them are in their toddler years or younger, I have a parent-side that comes out to either scold them for bad behavior or to make sure they aren’t hurt from any minor bumps. Now I would also say that I am 17 because I already know what I want to do after high school. I wouldn’t say I am 18, however, because I feel too close to the life I have now that I don’t want to leave it.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
I would say that never trying is far worse than failing. Instead of living in fear of the unknown, face the unknown with courage. Who knows what would happen? The result may turn for the better. This is really hypocritical of me to say but until I gain courage, I will never fail and I can avoid the worse of the situations.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
I have a soft side for animals of any shape and size except spiders and the like. I would love to take care of animals from the day they were born to their last. Taking care of animals would make me happy especially if I did it with a family of my own. All around the world I would have reserves where I can visit the animals to make sure they are all alright and also I would protect them from any harm. And thus, taking care of animals would make my job a high paying one if happiness was to be a national currency.
8. If the average human lifespan was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I would still live without thinking much of my future until I’m 18. At 18 years of age, I would go to college if I can afford it. If I can afford college, 4 years would go by and I would be 22. I would find a job and work hard. After saving up $300k after buying a house and insurance and cars, I would marry which roughly puts me at age 30. Hopefully. From there I would have a child and be there for his 9 years. I would use all my money for my family to make sure all their needs are met when I die and that they have money for post-mortem. Now if I can’t afford college, I would go to a trade school to get a degree and then a job. I would save money for a house. I would marry well before 30 years of age and be there longer for a child of mine. The only drawback would be that I will not have much money to buy extravagant pleasantries for my family but I would still be able to take care of them.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
The answer is simply yes. I wouldn’t rush head first into breaking the law but I would nonetheless break it to save a loved one after careful planning. I would feel lost without the loved one and so, I would break the law whether the law being hijacking a car or thievery.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
Talking about a certain subject. Fear is a great motivator and a great silencer.
18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
Yes, because I can not move on if I don’t. The problem is, however, it’s just simply too hard for me to let it go.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
DeleteI would keep my old memories as they are my childhood memories. And these memories are the first memories I would have with someone. It is improbable for someone to remember what they did from the time they were born to three to four years of age as they grow. The years after that, however, are possible to remember and thus, the memories I obtained are unforgettable. I met my best friend a little before starting Pre-k. I had plenty of great times with my family during every trip. I made memories with great friends. People say to never look at the past but in the present. This is wrong because our past is very important. Our past in what makes us who we already are. And so, I would keep my old memories rather than not be able to make new ones.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, this question was harder for me to answer, so I will explain it with an example. For instance, next month, I am not taking the AP Physics exam. Part of me says that I should have at least paid for it to attempt it, but the other part of me says that I did not want to completely flunk it. I was doing great until it got harder, and I became discouraged in one of the units where it seemed like Greek to me and was too afraid to ask questions because I did not want to be the only one in class who did not get it and receive sarcastic answers from the teacher. So at that time of deciding to take the exams when I had a ‘C’ on that physics test, I told myself that I would rather not try that exam than try it and waste money. Now, I regret it in the same way I regret not doing soccer or volleyball freshman year. What if I had a 3? I could have at least tried, worked harder, and kept motivation. Therefore, I will say that never trying is worse. Failing sucks, but that is how we learn from mistakes I guess. With trying, at least you will not spend the rest of your life wondering what would happen without not trying.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
We do so many things we do not like and have so many things we do not do in our lives because of the sad truth that society and our relatives place limitations on us, mainly because of time constraints and wealth. If, for instance, two people love traveling and one is from a wealthy background while the other is on a tight budget, the person on a tighter budget would not be able to pursue his passion as much or at all compared to the wealthy person because of affordability issues. Although has educational and personal benefits, school forces people to learn information we do not need and be controlled. The main reason many attend school is to eventually attend college only to get a job afterwards with a decent salary. Unless they love their job once that happens, that person does the same job everyday until they quit. Another point is with relatives. Many teenagers for example are forced into going into a profession they do not want to go into simply because their parents force them to as they have no other choice, and if they do not obey them, they will disappoint them. In this case, they are living their life to please them instead of themselves. Additionally, it is caused from other reasons such as fear, procrastination, or indecisiveness.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
There are a plethora things I would like to change about this world, like making healthcare and college free, eliminating taxes on necessities, eradicating poverty and debt, etc. However, if I would have to change one thing the most, I would change hostility and replace it with peace and innovation. Hostility is the root of most of our society’s problems today: racism, sexism, prejudice, shootings, killings, bullying, violence, etc. If everyone in the world could just get along with one another, then we could all cooperate to find solutions to the other issues of society. Without hostility, people would be led to have more empathy and benefit in understanding each other, and that would relieve that huge weight of stress and depression in our society.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
I would become a multi-billionaire by listening to or playing music. I do many things in my life with music: cooking, cleaning, homework (though that sometimes is distracting to be honest), sitting on the bus, etc. As I once said, music helps me with my mood and can also be my escape pathway, so with my music, I would enjoy it and be rich to do other things.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
DeleteI am definitely more worried about doing things right. In terms of doing the right things, I believe that I already do that often since I try my best to be nice and honest. With doing things right, it takes more effort from me since I am a person who wants to do everything I can for something. For example, I knew I wanted to be in NHS freshman year because it was acclaimed as the highest high school honor. I stressed and worried so much about my grades so much to get in (though it was pretty much guaranteed). Now, I stress over doing everything right for college though I have made mistakes.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
I would advise that little newborn child to always love and be proud of themselves, never giving up. In this big world filled with both good and bad people or things, life can be unpredictable sometimes, and it is definitely not always easy. If they love themselves, they will have an easier time at being confident in all their desired endeavors, not be emotionally hurt by those who strive to demean them, and encourage themselves more.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
In terms of my character, I have been a good friend. I am kind, respectful, honest, and I am willing to be helpful in whatever form they need. I am not as openly loud and hilarious as others, but I do support my friends and I have fun. However, I was reluctant to “open up” in a sense, and I am still working on that since I still struggle a bit with that.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
If I knew no one would judge me, I would be myself more openly. I would not be so hesitant and afraid to express myself at school or to anyone by asking more questions in class, and I would definitely talk more. I would listen to my music I love, look how I want, wear what I want, and try whatever new activity I want without being criticized, mocked, compared, or called “weird”. If this was the case, then I would not feel so out of place sometimes.
5. What is one thing you'd most like to change in the world?
ReplyDeleteI despise when people say that a male can't be feminist. I proudly call myself a male feminist because I have many females in my life that have suffered the consequences of living in our androcentric world. My mom has been denied multiple opportunities to live her life the way she wants because of her gender. My little sisters have been bullied and teased for simply being female. Is it wrong to want some of the most important people in my life to live happily? Gender roles and gender equality are what I'd like to change within the world. I'd like to educate those with fragile masculinities that feminism doesn't mean females are superior but rather are equal.
6. If happiness was the national currency then what kind of work would make you rich?
"La la la la la la la la la la HAPPINESS!"- Red Velvet's Happiness. By citing a K-Pop group right as I begin this question, you can probably assume that this has something to do with K-Pop. To answer all these raving questions, yes I'd be a KPop idol. Korean entertainment is amazing. Although it's basically American entertainment in a different language, I find it more satisfying to experience. The ideas and visuals in music videos are much more appealing to me at least. The topics that they speak about in regular shows also are more to my liking. Another thing I'd like to be is a Pokémon Master. Although not really a profession, I'd be at the peak of my happiness with my job being someone who designed Pokémon or someone who helped in bringing more success to the franchise.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Be confident in yourself and who you truly are. I have gone through phases in my life where I've tried to cover up who I really was. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm still doing that. I've suppressed part of myself for so long that I forget who I was. If this piece of advice was passed down to a little newborn, they wouldn't have suppressed themselves yet and grow up learning to embrace their flaws.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
My family is the most important thing to me. Actually, let me rephrase that. Parts of my family are the most important things to me. I say that knowing exactly what you’re thinking. “You don’t love all of your family?!!” The answer to that question is yes and no. I love my family as a whole but without a few of them, I’d probably love them even more. Back to the question. Depending on which loved one, I would break a law or ten. Amongst my family, I would murder to save some of them. Although that sounds cruel and unusual, it comes from the deepest part of my heart (or my brain if you’re really being literal).
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
DeleteI somehow always manage to incorporate KPop in my blogs. This time I mention it once again. As you’ve seen I want to become some sort of idol in Korea. To get to this, you need to audition for an entertainment company that will sponsor you. I have never signed up for anything of the sort. I’ve thought of it many many times but reality always comes back to me. I’m in America and my parents are very tiger like. That means college to medical school to doctor. Even though I may rebel, some part of me knows that the chance of actually achieving my dreams are about .001% and like someone said don’t follow your dreams follow the world’s demands.
18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
I’m a naturally petty person. I will not deny that I’m petty and instead embrace my pettiness (not to be mistaken for prettiness because I’ll embrace that too. Just kidding. (insert tongue sticking out emoji here)). Because of my extreme pettiness I usually never let go of grudges unless someone forces me to. To use an example, someone ruined my entire 7th-grade year by publicly screaming that I’m a bitc* and since then I’ve hated them and cannot let go of my hatred. Besides my extreme pettiness, I need to let go of my procrastination habits. As you can see by the time stamp posted on this blog, I have yet to let go of those.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
To answer this the easy way, yes I have been. Have I always been the friend I've wanted. No. My friends are some of the people that I cherish most. But similar to the human body, I make mistakes. To be frank, I am who I am. Do I want someone like me to be my friend? That's a question worthy of a discussion. When my friends are at their lowest, that's when I am the person I wish I had. I'm usually their to comfort them in times of need and hardship. I'll help them get through anything they need. I'm not this friend always but I wish I was.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
All of my actions sadly do rely on how others perceive it. Knowing this full and well, I cover up my true self. If people around me didn’t judge be, I’d be much more open to criticism and be free really. I could embrace my true talents and my true hobbies. For one thing, I love learning about vocal technique. I can’t openly embrace my love for Passagis and Tessitura because of how weird others would think it is. I’d be able to openly critique people and their singing without people believing that I’m dumb and don’t know what I’m talking about.
2) I believe never trying is worse. I’m not sure if in this question second chances are given, but if they are, then failing would help a person get closer to doing what it is they need to do correctly. If second chances are not given when dealing with this question, then I feel like regret would be felt if you either failed or never tried, but if you failed you could at least say you had put all your effort into it.
ReplyDelete3) We do things we don’t like because of money and the pressures of those around us. We have a capitalist society, so having a well paying job and going to college for something you may not want to do is the best thing for you to do so that you would live comfortably in the future. Also even if you didn’t care about money, you may feel pressured to do what your parents want or what others are doing.
9) I would have to say that I haven’t really controlled my life all that much. In 6th grade, instead of mediocre and slightly-above mediocre grades like I was getting before in 1st-5th grade, I had a huge turn around and never got anything below a B and my overall grades were always A’s. But even that was controlled by my parents because before the school year started, they told us they would take us to Disney World if we got all A’s on our report cards. I always had a feeling that they were lying but I still did well and I’ve been doing well in school ever since. From there, the most control I’ve had was choosing the classes I took in school.
10) I feel like I’m more concerned with doing the right thing. I definitely do not do things correctly, whether it be school or anything else in my life, and I usually don’t think twice about it. But If I try to do the wrong thing, I get a feeling that stops me from doing it. If I did do something, I usually go back and try to fix what I did.
12) Be careful who you trust. I know that is not the most positive advice to send a child into the world with, but in our world, it’s one of the pieces of advice that could keep them safe. When thinking about this question, I believed the child would be mine, and just thinking about my child trusting an untrustworthy person or someone who is using them made me grit my teeth. The world we live in today is filled with liars and manipulators and I would want my child to never be subjected to them.
34) The reason I choose this question was because I had to reread it a couple times, and I still do not think that I completely understand it. But I believe it’s asking about an unspoken connection. And I do believe that I have actually had unspoken connections with others and may have never realized it because it happened so naturally. The unspoken connections don’t have to be large events, they could be the smallest actions between 2 or more people that go unrecognized like seeing someone look around for something and handing it to them, or giving a look to a classmate that you have never really talked to, but both of you are suddenly in the same boat and you just look at each other. This question made me realize that these small happenings are actually quite frequent in my life.
36) This question made me remember a question Mrs. Rock had given us that was basically the same, though it did use different words. My answer is still the same; good and evil is all about the person who is judging. What one person is told to consider as evil or good is different from another. There are set things in our society that are considered ‘evil’ and ‘good’, but that could just be us as Americans.
46) I would have to say I would speak out more. Half the time I don’t talk because I really don’t have anything to say, but the other half of my silence has to do with worrying about saying something that is misinterpreted, not understood, or not the smartest thing to say. I still do say things even though I know this can happen, but I still try to keep my mouth closed when I know something I say may not be taken the way I wish for it to be taken.
How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? (I love this one!)
ReplyDeleteIf I didn’t know how old I was, I would say that I’m still 6 years old. Even though I try to act grown as best as I can deep down inside I’m scared of growing up. I know there is nothing easy about being an adult in this world, and I also know that the responsibilities double after you graduate high school.
In some ways I am mentally an 8 year old. I cry like an 8 year old, I laugh at things that an 8 year old would laugh at, I love unconditionally like an 8 year old, and I see no limits just as an 8 year wouldn't. In my head, anything is possible.
If the average human lifespan was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
If I knew that I would be dying at 40 years old I wouldn’t change the way I live my life. I would change the way I treat people. I’m not always kind to the people that love me. 40 years is so short that it would be important to make every second and every word count.
Would you break the law to save a loved one?
I would definitely break the law to save a loved one. Even though the laws are put in place to keep everyone safe, my loved ones are much more important than a law. I would be willing to suffer the consequences of breaking the law for anyone that I love.
What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
I really want to go skiing and go to skyzone. If it were up to me I would get up and go right now. Unfortunately, it isn’t up to me. My dad won’t allow me to do either due to the the risk of getting hurt. When I graduate college I will have time to do everything on my bucket list.
Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
I still think that I’m different when It comes to friendship. I expect much more than just someone to hang out with. I haven't met a person who understands my definition of friendship. I would love to have a friend like me so we could relate.
Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
I would rather never be able to make new memories than to lose all of my old memories. Without our memories we are and have nothing. Our memories store every experience that has ever shaped who we are. Our memories store the connections we have to our loved ones. To erase our memories would mean completely starting over in life.
If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
If I knew that everyone was going to die tomorrow I would start by saying my last goodbyes to my parents. More importantly I would go pick up my sister from college, from there I would go (with my sister) to visit the other 5 people who have helped make my life enjoyable.
To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
I have never actually controlled the course my life has taken, I have always been told how to live my life. I was never given an option to live it any other way. The only things I controll in my life are the things that don’t really matter. Such as my hair color, and who I chose to love.
(I'm gonna answer all of them thoroughly because I'm bored and I like all of these questions.)
ReplyDelete1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? (I love this one!)
If I didn't know how old I was, I would definitely be about 21. My personality has me doing things such as play video games, drink, and care deeply about people. 21 is that perfect age where people can still play video games but also love someone deeply, while also go out and party. This age seems like the age where people start to grow up and also still like to reminisce on their childhood. Though I'm not a party animal like my peers, I like to have fun here and there and that's a pretty big aspect of being 21. It also seems like the age where you start truly loving people and truly start caring about people and I think I'm just about there.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
If I was asked this question two years ago, then I would say failing but now, my view has drastically changed. Never trying is definitely way worse than just failing. If you fail at something, then you learn what you can and can't do and you learn lessons. If you never try, then you don't get anything out of it. You live a life of never knowing and I personally HATE not knowing things. I hate things that end without closure so I always like trying something instead of just not failing but not knowing.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
We do so many things we don't like because of two reasons. One of the reasons is that it's easier at the time and it's more convenient. The other reason is that it's what society does and people just like fitting in. There of course isn't a thing in this world that everyone likes, which means that someone out there is going to be doing something they don't like just to fit in or be with the crowd. We like so many things we don't do because as humans we again just want to fit in. If people don't agree with what we like, then we won't do it… generally speaking.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
I'd like to change the view of people on love. Not just how people think love is meeting someone and instantly clicking etc. etc., but I think people should start seeing love as something to do. I don't mean love people like you were in a relationship, but I mean love people as people. This is more of a shout out to all the people who get made fun of or who get bullied because of a certain aspect. On the other side of the spectrum, I think people should change their view on relationship love. What I mean by this is that they should start seeing it as something that doesn't "just happen" and it isn't something you have to connect the dots for. If you love someone, you feel it, you don't just think it.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
I've said it before and I'll still say it now, being a doctor would make me rich. I truly honestly feel joy in helping people, especially if it deals with their health, whether it be physical or mental. Then if I go specifically into the medical field, it would still be a neurosurgeon because I like doing things that people think I can't and I am also EXTREMELY fascinated by the brain. If I worked as a neuro, I'd be the happiest, I mean richest guy in the world.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I wouldn't. I don't live my life thinking there's more to live, I just go with the flow. I could die tomorrow? So this question doesn't really change my "plans." I kind of just accept things as they go.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
DeleteI think I've controlled it pretty well. My parents back me up in the things I do so I usually have free will over the things I do. Other than the physical things, such as where I live, how I eat, etc. etc., then I'd like to think I've had pretty good control over the course of my life. Furthermore, my parents don't know a lot of the things I do anyway.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
Honestly I'm worried about doing the right things right. You can have the best intentions and you can care for someone, which would be doing the right thing, but it doesn’t mean you're caring about them right. If I had to completely pick one, then I'm worried about doing the right things. I'm pretty conscious about other peoples' opinions of me and I really hate not "looking good" and having a bad rep. Whenever I think I did something wrong, I instantly apologize.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Love. Love everyone and everything. Yea, this will lead to a lot of heartbreaks, but it will also build a tough human. A tough, loving human who when they love, they love hard. I'm a cheesy person but I genuinely think love makes this world go round.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Yes. I'm not kidding when I say I would take a bullet for the people I love and breaking the law isn't any worse. If I had to break a law to save someone I love, then heck yes I would do it. Prison, or whatever punishment would be well worth the life of someone I love.
17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
I haven't apologized to all the people I hurt and I really want to do it but I feel like it's not my place anymore. I constantly worry about the people who I have "bad blood" with and it worries me that one day I'll see them and they still hate me. This fear of getting rejected or getting ignored is definitely holding me back. Simply put, my pride is holding me back.
18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
DeleteYes. (I hope no one reads this cause this is probably getting old, but let me know if you read it). I need to let go of Jess. It's been two months and eighteen days, but I still haven't let go. Call me obsessive, call me crazy, call me anything you want, but you can't call me a liar. It physically, mentally, and emotionally hurts to think about it, but it's something I really can't help. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she was my first girlfriend or my first kiss, I don't really know, but all I know is that I NEED to let go of her before it's too late for me.
23. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
Yes. Not to sound cocky, but I like making sure all of my friends are okay and I also make sure they always have someone there for them and that's the kind of friend I want. I want a friend who's not afraid to tell me anything and it can also go vice versa. I've also been the kind of friend that you can just hang out with and that's what I want in a friend.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
Lose all of my old memories. As much as I hate to say it, I hate my memories. I know I have some really amazing ones down memory lane, but at the present moment, I'm drowning in the memory of my biggest blunder. The day constantly repeats in my head, how I sat on my front steps watching as someone drove away. The pain of this memory is enough to make me want to forget everything.
34. Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?
No, not really.
36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
No and that's because everyone has their own perspective on everything. There will NEVER be something that EVERYONE on this earth will agree upon and that's just the truth. If not EVERYONE will agree on it, then you can never "know" what's good or what's evil. Good and evil are just ideas and perspectives, you can't put a label on it.
41. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today?
My sister. My parents are already with me and my sister is away in college so I would like to see all of my family before I die. She's also honestly one of the biggest supporters I have so it would only be fair.
46. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
I would go about life differently. I'd probably talk to more people, make more friends, sing a lot more, just go about school and life differently in general.
2. This brings me to that quote that EVERYONE knows: "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" (or something like that). Not trying is like not giving yourself the chance to find out what you're truly capable of, and that itself is worse than failing, because if you fail, at least you can give yourself the credit of trying.
ReplyDelete5. I'd change how people treat each other. This world is filled with some people who are just straight up mean, and I witness that almost everyday. I don't think that everyone has to necessarily like each other, but it really does blow my mind when I see just how cruel people can act towards each other!!
8. I’d skip out on college and move somewhere far, close to the ocean, and travel as much as I possibly could.
10. I'd rather do what feels right, than what is right. I didn't realize how cocky or shallow this sounded until just now, but I'm the most important person in my life, and doing what's right for me and my well being is all I really care about...even if it isn't considered "the right thing to do" to others around me.
12. If I could offer a newborn one piece of advice, I'd tell them to live their life as carefree as possible. Seriously, too many people (sometimes including myself) care too much about what people think of them and the things they do. Having this mindset does nothing but hold you back from being you, or from doing something that you've always wished to do, all because of being scared of a few opinions that may not match yours.
17. I've always wanted to go skydiving and the actual only thing holding me back is the fact that I'm not 18 yet. But just know in the summer of me being 18, I will be jumping out of a plane that's how ever many thousand feet in the air, just because I want to.
18. I'm holding onto the idea what could've been. I'm holding onto a time where I was the happiest I could've possibly been; desperate to feel that happiness again. Slowly but surely though, I'm starting to let go... but I'm purposely taking my time because of course, what if? What if I can feel that way again? What if it's just taking its time like most things do? What if I fully let go, and miss that opportunity to be back where I was? It's scary to think of, and maybe that's why I refuse to let myself let go so fast.
34. YES! And I must say it’s both equally such a weird, but amazing feeling all at the same time.
Which is worse, failing or never trying?
ReplyDeleteGosh, I would have to say never trying is worst. Never trying eliminates the idea of failure all together which to someone is a good enough reason to not try. But by not trying it also eliminates the possibility to succeeding and that is failing as well. I hate that I do go out and try things, because when I don’t I often beat myself up for not doing that. Even though I take failure hard, I will eventually get over it and move on to something new. But because I don’t try anything new I don’t experience failure outside of the typical everyday things. So never trying is worse when it stands between a good opportunity and a breaking point.
What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
I would change the hate, I would change the hate between nations that bring forth this hostility that often leads to warfare. And I would change the hate within the people, the hate that makes someone dislike another because of differences, and not only racial differences but differences in general. This would save a lot of lives, produce less psychopaths, and make it al ot easier for people to put their energy on better things.
Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
I am more of a do the right thing kind of person, and even though I try to do the right things I always want to do them the right way as well. The only reason I side with ‘doing the right thing’ is because I am often thinking about the outcome of things. Being I don’t always do what is right, I don’t want to be overwhelmed with the task of doing things right because I know sometimes I will mess up, but my mess ups are ways to direct me to where the right things are. So I’m fine with messing up but I always want to do whats right for myself, and sometimes other depending on the person.
Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
I am holding on to heartbreak, whether between friends, in relationships, or with my family. One simple thing can just damage me so bad that it makes a scar. And the scar never leaves and I keep this in mind when I am meeting new people. I keep this in mind when I have the mentality to not trust someone, I keep this in mind when my insecurities overflow because of what’s happened and what’s been said and all the negative things piling up. If I were able to just let go of all of those scars, throw the heartbreak away, I’d be perfectly capable to moving on and having better relationships with people who mean a lot to me.
What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
One thing I would do differently if I knew no one would judge me is actually sing in choir class. I like singing...sort of...but I don’t sing in choir because I don’t think my voice is made for the type of songs we sing in choir. I have a comfort, and that usually stays within the songs on my playlist. Even though I know to open my vocal range I have to be open to new notes or whatever, but I am not trying to sing out, crack, and then have everyone looking at me like I’m crazy. I rather just sing softly to myself and save the judgement.
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? (I love this one!)
ReplyDeleteI would most likely be 12. I am not too short, but short enough. I also do not wear any make up and leave my hair in either a ponytail, bun or just loose. I look presentable, but I definitely do not spend over 20 minutes getting ready. All of those things equal simplicity, and that usually is the same description as a child. To top it all off, every time I walk into Olive Garden, Applebee’s, P.F. Chang’s, etc. I almost ALWAYS get offered or asked if I need a children’s menu. So, I would be 12. Personality wise, I would definitely be in my mid 20’s. I am organized and very mature. I have been through too much in my life to be stuck in middle school and high school drama. I have real problems that force me to grow up and think as an adult. Action wise, I would be 80. I have had surgeries, I go to bed at 8 on the weekends, I wear fuzzy socks, nightgowns and robes, and I gossip with my grandma on the phone almost everyday. Also, I seriously LOVE old people.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Never trying. I have become a completely different person since freshman year, and I owe a huge thanks to my failures. Even to the people and things that failed me. I am stronger now, I know that. I still dwell on my past every now and again, but with good intentions. I want to remember all of the mistakes I have made in the past so that I know not to repeat them.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
The truth is… everyone says, “Life is short” as an excuse to do something bad or illegal and give a bad excuse for it. You never heard anyone say “YOLO” when they do something great. No one knows exactly how short life is until they are dying or are really sick. I have been through a lot, and still don’t use “life is short” as my motto. Lifespan does not matter to me because everyone goes. It matters more what you do in that “short” period of time than how long it lasts. Yes, it is horrible to die young, but in reality if the person lived a great, happy and successful life, they maybe accomplished more than a person who lives to 100.
8. If the average human lifespan was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I truly believe that I am doing what makes me happy already. I would keep going with school until I have reached my goals. I would not mind being 30 and still be in school or training. I just want to do surgery. I want to save other people’s lives even if mine will end in 5 years. I could save so many lives within my last 5 years that it would assure me that I came here to do what I was called to do, and will go out doing what I love.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
I have had a choice in many things. What high school I went to, who I associated myself with, what I want to be when I grow up and accordingly dedicate time towards that goal, and my part in certain relationships. I got into the engineering program at Cedar Creek, but then I asked myself if that was what I really wanted in life. I took a step back and remembered my history and what happened with my mom… I changed my mind in less than a minute. I transferred into the Biomedical Program at Oakcrest, and I am positive I made a great decision. I do not associate myself with kids that drink and smoke their lives away because I am the complete opposite. I do not get along with people that are extremely different than me. I am not speaking about anything other than their personalities. I have known what I wanted to be since my mom had cancer. I will give back to the medical field in the only effective way that I can, which is by joining them. I set my mind to a certain path, and yes, sometimes I swerve, but I never travel on a different path.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
ReplyDeleteSet goals, don’t worry about what other people do and head straight for what you want to accomplish. That all goes together because other people can tear you down so much that you let go of all of your goals and follow them. Don’t be a follower, be a leader.
26. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones?
Lose all of my old memories. I am on a great path now, and the memories I will make in the future outweigh some of the bad memories I have from the past.
36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
Yes. Good is something you would want to show or tell your parents and God. Evil is something illegal or something that needs to be kept a secret.
